Different Categories of Bending Springs

Manufacturers find a hard time bending pipes made of various materials, especially PVC. Often, the material breaks under pressure or bends improperly. Using bending springs is an ingenious solution to this problem because they keep the pipe from breaking or bending improperly. The spring is strong enough to protect the pipe’s structural integrity and flexible enough to be manipulated as needed.

What are the different categories of bending springs? There are two major bending springs categories; however, they have one similarity. The type of bending spring used for each pipe is unique to the pipe’s measurements. The spring should fit the pipe properly to prevent any instances where it bends out of proportion. The two major bending spring categories include: ● Internal bending springs ● External bending springs

Internal bending springs Manufacturers use internal bending springs when bending bigger pipes. They often insert the spring into the pipe before beginning the bending process to protect its internal structure from collapsing. The spring (usually steel) forces the pipe to bend evenly when exposed to the bending process.

External bending springs Manufacturers use external bending springs when bending smaller pipes. The bending process involves inserting the pipe into the spring before applying any force. The spring’s strong structure allows the weaker pipe to bend evenly and smoothly by spreading the stress throughout its entire structure.
