New Zealand Croatia Cultural Fixture

Seddon Cricket Club travelled to the picturesque Bay Oval in Tauranga, which recently hosted the test match between the BLACKCAPS and England. It’s the first time that Seddon Cricket Club have played at Bay Oval.

New Zealand Croatia hosted the day and they thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to host all of the teams along with their supporters, officials, families and guests in true Croatian-style hospitality. Croatian music was playing throughout the day, and the players and supporters enjoyed a traditional lunch of lamb on the spit. During the break between matches, we officially welcomed all our guests and were able to auction off donated items for those affected by cyclone Gabrielle, brilliantly facilitated by auctioneer Will Johnston. It was great to see local MP Todd Muller also take the opportunity to visit and drum up some support for the auctions and it was humbling to play our part towards raising a considerable amount for those affected.
