ABOUT SACHRA

A non-profit organization was formed by studying, training, and practicing human resource personnel to respond to South African human capital matters. This establishes and drives solutions to various Human Resources challenges across sectors and industries. The perpetual actions of SACHRA, amongst many, are to ensure that every Human Capital Personnel in the South African mining community participates in the development of the country and makes meaningful opinions and solutions on all human resource challenges. This is done with the alignment of primary education and tertiary curricula that are responsive to the industry needs and long-term aspirations of the country regarding growth and competiveness.

PRESIDENT’S NOTE

Dear Members of the SACHRA Council,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you as we convene for this significant strategic planning session.

Your commitment and support are essential as we collaboratively shape the future of our industry and association.

I appreciate your presence here today and look forward to engaging in fruitful discussions and establishing meaningful connections.

ABOUT YOUR VENUE

An elegant designer hotel that straddles the Drakensberg escarpment on the doorstep of the Panorama route near the tourism haven of Graskop, Mpumalanga in South Africa. The one-hundred-hectare estate boasts a blend of natural high-altitude fauna and spectacular landscaped gardens. Capturing the essence of the Khoza family’s legacy, this unique destination offers an eclectic combination of accommodation styles and sweeping lounges and terraces gaze across the breath-taking views. Angels View boasts a myriad of facilities that promise to engage our travelers and cater to the most discerning visitors.

Angels View accommodation options offer guests a welcoming experience with all the amenities of a peaceful luxury hotel. All our guests have easy access to the hotel dining area, pool area, pool bar area, relaxation lounge, library lounge and outside dining at the hotel restaurant. Angels View has Wi-Fi access throughout the establishment. An added luxury is our private dining room ideal for intimate dining and private functions seating up to 12 guests. The picturesque scenery from Angels View makes it the ideal location for your conference. The hotel has modern and up to date conferencing facilities that can host up to 500 guests with access to a large outside wooden deck for additional space and relaxation during conferencing events. The conferencing space also has adjacent access to two breakaway rooms that can hold up to 20 guests each.

SACHRA comprises a diverse, robust, competent team of experienced professionals passionate about making a difference.

Zandi possesses 24 years’ working experience in the Human Resources Department. She is currently employed at Seriti Resources, as Human Resources Manager. Zandi is passionate about “building together” and believes in collaboration towards advancing Africa.

Thabo Masike

Past President

Thabo is the Chief Corporate Affairs and Community Relations Officer at Seriti Resource. He is the Chairperson of the Board of Colliery Training Centre, serves on the Remuneration Committee at WCMAS and MCSA's Advisory Board on GBVF. Passionate. Driven and seasoned leader with extensive experience in Human Resources, Change Management, Transformation, Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, Collective Bargaining, Community Development and Strategic Partnerships.

Paulos Soviya

Linah Tshabalala

Past President

Paulos Soviya is the Head of Employee Relations and Transformation at Thungela Resources, with over 27 years of experience in the coal industry, holding various HR roles including amongst others Community Development Manager, ER Manager, HR Manager etc. He believes that will transform the human capital function to be a recognized strategic business partner.

Linah Tshabalala is a Senior HR Manager at Sasol, has worked for Anglo American Coal in various operations in various Human Resources roles. She is a seasoned allrounder HR Practitioner, with a wealth of knowledge of the coal mining industry inclusive of operational, strong business development experience, and strong leadership capability. She is a transformational coach, sponsor for women in mining forums and a mentor. She loves working with teams and achieving results through teams’ efforts. She is passionate about life in general and always seeks new challenges that allow her growth.

Janine Olivier

Janine Olivier is the HR Manager at Greenside Colliery, Thungela, with extensive experience of 24 years. SACHRA provides a forum for HR professionals where they are given an opportunity to network and grow. SACHRAs’ aim is to ensure we provide a platform for all members to be able to reach their professional and personal potential.

Sipho Mabuza is the Principal ER Specialist for the Sasol Group with over 23 years’ experience in the mining industry. His area of interest is capacity building and mentoring. He would like to see SACHRA being a compass in solving human and business relations and being recognized for integrity and innovation.

Wendy Boloka is a Lead HR Partner Business Partnership at Seriti Resources. Wendy Started working in 2006 in the HR Industry (20 Years), she worked for Companies such as Human Communication, Vodacom, AfriSam, Imperial, Anglo American. She believes the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step and looks forward to walking the journey with SACHRA.

Kaya Mvakwendlu is an Experienced Community Development Specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry. She is skilled in Corporate Social Responsibility, Social and Labour Plans, Stakeholder Management, and LED project management and execution.

Khona Dlamini is a seasoned Human Resources Generalist with a wealth of experience in production and people management across various mining commodities. He is currently the Group Talent Manager Acting for Overlooked Group.

Cyprian Siyabonga Mgobhozi is an experienced HR Manager at Sasol Mining 21 Years, HR Generalist and Consultation

Letlotlo Modise

Letlotlo Modise is an HR Manager at Thungela, Goedehoop Colliery. He started in the Mining industry in 2001 as a Laboratory Operator at Anglo Platinum Piet Retief Laboratory and has since completed his master’s degree in Labour Relations Management from Tshwane University of Technology

Sipho Mbethe

Marketing & Branding

Sipho Mbethe is the Human Resources Manager at Thungela Khwezela Operations, with vast experience of 26 years in both hard rock mining and coal mining. He believes SACHRA will play the role of harnessing and developing new talents through sharing of information and networking. Furthermore, elevating the HR profession in the mining industry as the equal partner in business.

Elmarie Bartlett is currently Senior HR Manager Operations at Sasol Mining and her experience spans over 30 years in various industries. She has a passion for identifying and developing talent and collaborating to provide human capital solutions to the mining industry

Justice Nkosi

Justice Nkosi is currently VP Human Resources at Sasol Mining and has over 24 years Human Resources Generalist experience at both strategic and operational levels having worked for different companies in diverse industries i.e., manufacturing, banking, FMCG, and mining. He is looking forward to seeing SACHRA making a valuable contribution to the South African Collieries, the Mining Industry and other related industries
