This renowned Scottish charity helps ex-services men and women adapt to civilian life by providing community, friendship and practical advice. In the last year the glENtON team have raised nearly £2000 for Legion Scotland through various fundraising events and donations from customers.

On this spectacular tour you can look forward to being wowed by sensational scenery, inspired by spellbinding history, captivated by legendary folklore and enchanted by hidden hamlets where time has stood still. You’ll be based in the breathtaking Cairngorms, a special place with sparkling lochs, soaring mountains, an abundance of wildlife and eagles gracing the skies above ancient forests.

Your Holiday Itinerary Monday. From local joining points we head to the Highlands and check into the Carrbridge Hotel in the Cairngorms National Park.

Tuesday. First up on this enthralling tour is the awardwinning Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre with its exciting interactive exhibition telling the story of the last battle to be fought on British soil. Follow the story of characters who were involved in the conflict where 1200 people lost their lives in a single hour on that fateful April day in 1746. From here, we continue to the Highland capital of Inverness for free time. Perhaps visit the eleventh century castle or simply enjoy a stroll along the riverbank.

Wednesday. We journey to mystical Loch Ness where we enjoy a breathtaking cruise gliding through the deepest waters as we view the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle and hear legends of the loch. We then continue to Drumnadrochit to visit the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition where you can learn about the Nessie hoaxes and discover what might really live beneath the glassy waters!

Thursday. Our final day out takes us firstly to Baxter’s Highland Village where the story of Baxter’s soup unfolds amidst a range of speciality shops. We then enjoy some free time in the charming town of Elgin where you might like to explore the cathedral ruins.

Friday. Breakfast, then we make our way home.

This pretty harbour town is home to a whisky distillery as well as Pulpit Hill where you can experience stunning views across the Firth of Lorne, not to mention a tranquil Highland sunset. We enjoy a day on the magnificent Isle of Mull with its miles of dramatic coastline and white sand beaches. We take in the best with excursions to Bowness-on-Windermere, a sprawling tourist magnet on the shores of Lake Windermere with a distinctive Victorian influence then charming Grasmere, the onetime home of Wordsworth is where you’ll find the poet’s Dove Cottage. On another day we take in quaint Keswick offering craft galleries and rowing boats for hire. Thursday. Today’s sightseeing takes us around the Cornish coastline discovering the enchantingly picturesque port of Looe where you’ll find a bustling fishing harbour. We continue to the old world charm of Polperro, an unspoiled little hamlet and former smuggler’s haunt.

Friday. Our excursions today take us firstly to St Ives where you can watch the world go by from the pretty harbour or meander the narrow streets before we continue to Penzance, England’s most southerly point.

At A leisurely pACe The enchanting Isle of Wight has golden sands with all the fun of the seaside as well as pretty parks and quaint thatch-roofed villages. Our holiday is based in Sandown, a popular resort nestling in a beautiful bay on the southern coast of the island. Sandown has a long stretch of sandy beach and a broad seafront promenade that’s just perfect for a relaxing stroll.

Attractions include a pleasure pier packed with traditional amusements as well as numerous cafés and ice cream parlours.

Your Holiday Itinerary Sunday. We travel south to our overnight hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Monday. After breakfast we continue south to Portsmouth to board our ferry for our crossing to Fishbourne. We then head for Sandown and check into the Parkbury Hotel. The rest of the day at leisure.

Tuesday. A visit to Newport, a historic town where the focal point is two elegant squares flanked by Georgian and Victorian architecture. The Museum of Island History, the Roman Villa and the Quay Arts Centre are all within walking distance of its hub.

Wednesday. A free day to do your own thing or join your host on the local bus to nearby Shanklin.

Thursday. Our treat today is a visit to Ryde where you’ll find a pleasure pier and the Waltzing Waters attraction.

PARkbURY Hotel – sAnDoWn

Friday. Today we explore this gorgeous island stopping at picture postcard Godshill, Alum Bay, Yarmouth and the famous Needles that stretch out to sea.

Saturday. We check out of the Parkbury Hotel, hop aboard the ferry back to Portsmouth then travel north to our overnight hotel for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Sunday. After a restful night and a tasty breakfast, we journey home to Scotland.

Perhaps follow the leafy trails in Rock Park, view the artefacts at Radnorshire Museum or simply relax and watch the birds on the lake. Sensational sightseeing is in store when we venture into the Elan Valley, a beautiful, unspoilt region and a haven for wildlife, all brought to life by its thundering dams. We learn about the history of cider making at Hereford’s famous Cider Museum, birthplace of Bulmer’s cider, and we discover the delightful villages of the Black Mountains.

Your Holiday Itinerary Monday. From local joining points we make our way to Llandrindod Wells and check into the Glen Usk Hotel.

Tuesday. Out and about we head to Hereford to visit the famous Cider Museum where we learn about the history of how apples were milled and pressed before indulging in some cider tasting followed by a delicious ploughman’s lunch. Afterwards, perhaps view the old photographs, watercolours, advertising memorabilia and the rare collection of lead crystal cider flutes.

Wednesday. Cameras on standby as we head into the Elan Valley for a thrilling, informative and photogenic day in the company of a knowledgeable ranger. We make stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and our exhilarating tour takes in four cascading dams, the first of which resembles a natural waterfall. Once back at the visitor centre, perhaps view the multimedia exhibition, browse the gift shop or enjoy a cuppa along with wonderful views.

Thursday. Today we snake our way through the Black Mountains to chocolate box Crickhowell, a pretty little town with a seventeenth century stone bridge spanning the River Usk. We continue to the medieval border town of Abergavenny, known as the Gateway to Wales.
