Ready for Personal Growth and Self-Discovery?

Now Is the Time! As The Glenridge continues to evolve to meet demand and build for the future across the 150-acre campus, Phase I of the community’s Northside Neighborhood is nearing completion – and members are moving into their homes. Almost There! As they prepare to move into The Glenridge’s brand-new Northside Neighborhood, Jeff and Jane Johnson have plenty to look forward to. The longtime Siesta Key residents were among the first to reserve their Club Home at Northside … and they’ll soon see that vision become a reality. “The Glenridge was, by far, superior to anything else we saw – and when this new area opened up, we went ‘bingo,’ that’s for us,” says Jane. “As much as we’ve been enjoying all the opportunities on the main campus, we can’t wait to settle in.” The Johnsons aren’t alone in their excitement. Over the past few years, they’ve gotten to know many of their future neighbors, including longtime

friends who have also reserved Northside residences. “We’re eager to have our neighbors join us,” says Jane. “It really feels like we’re already a community.” Among the most anticipated features of their Club Home: a two-car garage, a lanai, and space for a barbecue grill. “We’ll have all the advantages of a single-family home,” Jeff says. Adds Jane: “The Glenridge is all top notch: peace of mind, security, activities, carefree living, independence and flexibility – we just love it here!”

Different by Design

Tom and Shan Di Napoli look forward to the space, independence, and privacy of their Northside Club Home – and having a yard for their dog “Cookie.”

As an architect who worked with high-profile brands in Manhattan and across the United States (including design-build projects for Bloomingdale’s), Shan Di Napoli had exacting standards for her future home. But when she and her husband Tom, who headed an international furniture company, learned about The Glenridge’s Northside Neighborhood, they knew it checked every box.

“From an architectural standpoint, the houses are really well designed,” Shan says. “You have these high 11-ft. ceilings, which creates a different sense of proportion indoors. There’s a feeling of space and openness, which is very pleasing – and, of course, there’s the lovely design of the outdoors as well: lush, beautiful, and not at all crowded.” Already involved in Glenridge activities, Shan plays Mahjong and Tom sails model boats with the community’s Yacht Club. The couple also takes bridge lessons and enjoys programs at the Performing Arts Center on campus. But they’re really looking forward to Northside’s greenery and walking trails, which they – and their lively two-yearold Schnauzer, Cookie – are anxious to explore. “Everyone we’ve met is terrific – positive, friendly, and welcoming,” says Tom. “On top of that, we can look forward to all the advantages of a single-family home, more space, a two-car garage, and a great community. Everything we need is here.”

Define Aging Differe Not everyone approaches age in the same way. Some see it as a challenge – others, an opportunity. At The Glenridge, we frame life’s later years in the positive – as a time for personal growth and discovery … in an environment where people truly flourish and a culture that continues to grow and improve over time. Fit and Flourishing

laid-back retirement was never in the cards for Kevin and Lois Lindahl. After retiring from decades-long careers in law enforcement and education (he as a lieutenant with the Miami-Dade Police Department and she as a teacher, a principal, and later as a district director for Miami-Dade County Public Schools), the couple got to work on their next passion project: a fitness training business focused on older adults. “We were preparing for the future – but we were too full of energy to just sit back and relax,” recalls Kevin. “We had a passion for helping people keep fit – and, of course, for keeping fit ourselves – but we were also looking for security and peace of mind.” As 10-year Sarasota residents, the couple embarked on a comprehensive search for a community that checked all the boxes. Turns out, they didn’t have to look far. “Everything we wanted was at The Glenridge – practically right in our own backyard!” they say. “Here, the focus on wellness and health stood out to us – but the whole community is first class.” As their new Northside home was being built, the Lindahls moved into the main Glenridge campus and have taken full advantage of an array of amenities: balance classes at the Fitness Center, a scenic campus that’s ideal for jogging (and training for longdistance races) – and classes at the Glenridge Academy: “inspiration for the mind,” they say. “When you visit The Glenridge, you can’t believe how well the members age,” adds Lois. “There are so many wonderful programs to keep us healthy and keep us safe. It’s a lifestyle that lets us be totally independent.” Like fellow members, the Lindahls emphasize the importance of planning ahead, offering this advice: “Don’t think you’re too

All the “Must-Haves”

djusting to a new neighborhood is nothing new for Dwight and Jean Denny, who have lived in 16 residences across eight states. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Dwight joined Ryder Transportation Services, starting as a management trainee and rising to President. But when the two of them began planning their next chapter – and researching their next move – they knew they wanted to be somewhere they’d love for the rest of their lives. After deciding on a Life Plan Community, the Dennys went through a “rigorous process” to find the right one. “We looked

at several locations, but The Glenridge had almost every feature we were looking for: outstanding higher levels of care – including memory support and assisted living, which were a must-have for us,” Dwight says. “Plus, Sarasota is a wonderful town – and the Palmer Ranch area is beautiful.” In the Northside Neighborhood, the couple will be living in a single-family Club Home with high ceilings, lots of natural light, a lanai, and a two-car garage – surrounded by abundant green space, lakes, and trails for walking and biking. Dwight, who was born and raised on a farm, enjoys easy access to the outdoors for morning bike rides – while Jean, who loves gardening, appreciates the beautiful landscaping. While the Dennys await their Northside home, they’ve been living on campus and have wasted no time getting to know their new neighbors. “People are so outgoing and welcoming here,” says Jean. “Choosing The Glenridge was a great decision for us, and we’re looking forward to enjoying this lifestyle for a very long time.” Adds Dwight: “People should consider making this change sooner rather than later, while they’re young, vigorous and vital. Get started on the next chapter in your life!”

With a Northside Club Home on the horizon, Dwight and Jean Denny are already settling in to The Glenridge’s engaging social atmosphere.

efore retiring, David and Linda Oifer shared five professions between them. A CPA for an international accounting firm, David later became a software company CFO – while Linda’s career path encompassed early childhood education, taking over her family’s textile business, and facilitating support groups for people experiencing loss. After many business trips to Hawaii, they decided to put down roots there. But after 14 years of coastal living, the couple felt it was time to move closer to family. Having lived in a CCRC, they understood the concept – and they looked for the same kind of community back in the states. In their research, The Glenridge stood out among the rest. From their first visit, the Oifers were charmed by the beauty of the 150-acre campus. “For us, that has been the biggest positive,” says Linda. “There’s just so much space – and we can actually move back into a single-family home with everything taken care of.” Living on The Glenridge campus, the couple are settling into their new lifestyle with enthusiasm. A long-distance runner, Linda can often be seen training for her next halfmarathon around campus – and when he’s not jogging alongside, David can be found refining his golf game. The Oifers also share a long-time passion for doing good – with philanthropic endeavors that span the globe: funding support for a new facility for the oldest community theater in Honolulu … supporting a training center for Bhutanese nuns … and providing aid to an organization that rescues young girls in Kenya. “We find things that we connect with and make sure our impact is direct,” says David. “We try to make the world a better place when we can, how we can.” At The Glenridge, the Oifers feel right at home. “In Hawaii, they have something called the ‘aloha spirit,’ where people welcome newcomers with open arms,” says David. “We feel the same warmth here – that spirit is alive and well at The Glenridge.”
