JUNE 20 - 2018 ONLINE EDITION - 03
Final piece of pathway puzzle
A missing link in the footpath network at Glenview will finally be realised soon. The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have notified Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay that they are ready to start construction of the footpath at the junction of Stevens Road and Mooloolah Connection Road. The new pathway section will join the existing path which ends just in front of the tennis courts, with the path that runs along Stevens Road. This will require two road crossings – one across Mooloolah Connection Road, and then again across Stevens Road to join onto the existing path.
Calling local knitters
Throughout June and July the Mooloolah Valley Pharmacy is asking locals to turn their knitting needles to a good cause as part of the Guardian Angel Knitting Program which now in its twentieth year. They are keen to spread the work to our talented local knitters to donate knitted garments including beanies, scarves, jumpers and throws that will be distributed to Vinnies shops and services in a bid to provide each of the 105,000 homeless Australians with warm winter wear.

TMR have indicated that the design plans are finalised and works will commence early in the 2018/19 financial year. The new section completes the pathway which starts at Mooloolah and runs to Glenview State School and along Glenview Road to the Bruce Highway. People wanting to become a ‘Guardian Angel’ can visit Mooloolah Valley Pharmacy to pick up a free knitting book full of patterns for garments, with finished goods to be dropped back at the pharmacy by July 21. Ruth Zerna from Mooloolah Guardian Pharmacy said that the program is testament to Guardian Pharmacy’s commitment to supporting the local communities in which we operate.
