Foodie fun at Knitfest

Foodie fun at Knitfest

By Sonia Clark

As Knitfest Yarn and Fibre Arts Festival continues to expand its vision to provide an all embracing community event, this year there is an exciting addition of some foodie focussed workshops to extend the festival experience even further.

For 2019, Knitfest has added a delicious treat to this year’s winter festival. Spicers Tamarind Retreat in Maleny has joined in the festival fun and is offering two fabulous cooking classes.

Brush up on your culinary skills at either an Italian winter cooking class on Friday, July 5, or a French cooking class on Saturday, July 6.

Go to the Spicers website to secure your spot at https://spicersretreats.com/retreats/spicerstamarind-retreat/things-to-do/cooking-classes/.

Also on offer for the festival weekend is a pizza masterclass on Sunday, July 7, hosted by Pomodoras on Obi. For just $20, participants can learn the basics of gourmet pizza making.

Suitable for all ages, why not get the kids to learn how to cook some seriously tasty options - and like all good cooking experiences you get to eat the pizzas you make. Session times are 10am, 12noon and 2pm.

Bookings are essential: Call Pomadoras on 0418 743 203 or email events@pomadoras.com.au.

Knitfest Yarn and Fibre Arts Festival is held on July 6-7 at various venues and spaces in Maleny.
