Division three, ladies pennant, round five vs Bribie Island – Lee Meyers, Noelle Dean, Joy Reason and Chris Dougan went down in a tight one 14-16. Noelene Annakin, Lyn Griffiths, Di Hume and Rae Farrell went down 17-17. Good effort ladies. Next week’s game is at home on Wednesday then Bramble Bay away Thursday. Thursday, July 18: Winners of the day were Bruce Angus and Barry Kirk with + 17 margin in the first game and the runners up with the lowest winning margin in either game on count back were Jenny Morris and Mac Townson. Lucky draw went to Doug Sweedman and Jimmy Tatum. Our visitors are back from New Zealand at 1pm next Wednesday, July 31, which means no morning bowls. Please come and have a friendly game of bowls. Cost is $15. Come on members – put your names down. Sunday, August 4 is the police annual bowls day, the Iona Farm Challenge sponsored by Terry and Liz Little. Put your name down at the club, as players are needed. Cost is $13 with the game starting between 12.30pm and 1pm followed by nibbles. Club jackets can be bought from our office for $85. Our spring carnival is back for 2019, to be held Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27. Cost is still $55 each and this year the carnival teams are open. Sunday coaching is from 10.30am-12noon.

Tuesday, July 16: An 18-hole mixed single stableford competition was played with first place to Stephen Porter with 40 points, runner up Richard Owen with 38 points on a count back from Denis Hickey with 38 points, third to Bob Whiteley with 37 points. NTPs: 3 - Bob Whiteley [correct?], 5 - Glenda McIntosh, 8 - Neil Stenhouse and 13 - Kirk Vagg. Wednesday, July 17: The ladies played in an 18-hole single stableford competition with first place going to Seri Tytherleigh with 37 points on a two-way count back from Heather Shortus and Margaret Trigger both with 37 points, third to Anne Devane with 34 points. Saturday, July 20: An 18-hole mixed single stableford competition was won by Heath Gray with 45 points, runner up Gary Wright with 44 points and third Jeff Kruse with 41 points.
