Sport Easy Find Classifieds Contributed by Graeme Glover What a great week with the rain. Never had so much fun and the gardens are starting to look fantastic. Last Wednesday night was well supported with some new faces showing up and some new teams being formed for our summer competition. This is great as new teams bring new challenges to the somewhat confident Musketeers. Friday scroungers was a washout - started, stopped, recommenced and a fun roll up was had by the nine brave souls who were like kids playing in the rain. The handicapper chose not to penalise anybody but the organiser rewarded the brave. Congratulations to rink winners for the great form under heavy skies. Well done Doug McGufficke, Ian (Dicko) Dickson and Jim King. The Scotty Fawkes Memorial was played in great conditions on Sunday. Thanks to visitors from Kilcoy, Mapleton and Mooloolaba plus our contingent of bowlers. What a great day. Thanks to our major local businesses who sponsored the day - Mitre 10 and Maleny Paint Supplies provide ongoing support to our community. May I remind all members and friends that locals supporting locals keeps towns like ours vibrant. The winners of the various prizes came from all clubs but the big prizes remained on the hill with Maleny bowlers - Kay and Roy Gesch and Miles Allen.

Temperament: Good natured and friendly, this big boy is quite strong when walking and potential new owners need to be aware of this. He is currently learning his basic obedience and is doing well but will need to continue lessons. Chief is probably best as an only dog. If you love larger dogs, Chief may be the companion for you.

DLY
Contributed by Pauline Fraley ln spite of Witta Wagtails loss to Maleny Magics, the competition and tennis between the two teams was enjoyable. Thanks to Jan Maguire, Cynthia Garvie, Sonia Douglas and a special thanks to Jill Murtagh for filling in. Whistlers played at Witta against the Maroochydore Meteors. After a few weeks' break we struggled a bit to get back to our tennis. We didn't get many games but we were happy to be back on the court. Score was 26-41 games, 2-6 sets. Team was Paula Cudmore, Brenda Warner, Donna Kuskopf and Aki Lepper. The Wildcats and the Wikings had the bye. Witta Wompoos had a convincing win over Nambour Nambas to complete their season qualifying for the division two vets finals. Denis O'Neil refused to surrender games to the opposition with an outstanding four sets with a loss of only four games. Congratulations for an outstanding win by a solid team consisting of Anthony De Waard, Andrew Blowes, Denis O'Neil, Jim and Paula Cudmore and a very effective fill in of Stacey English. A huge thanks to Stacey for helping us over the line. We look forward to facing off with Nambour in the finals in a fortnight. Social tennis: Monday 8am and Saturday 1pm. All welcome. Court bookings 0437 295 501 or www. wittatennis.com.au.
