Maleny Bowls Club Contributed by Graeme Glover The weather had a major impact on bowls this week. The tradition of cold weather for the Brisbane Exhibition has proven true. Wet weather in the afternoon caused cancellations for our regular Wednesday night event. Thanks to those members who travelled to play at Mapleton and Kilcoy. These reciprocal visits are what keep bowls going many small communities like ours.
Super Strawberry 40
Friday saw folks back on the green. It was great to see the numbers playing, particularly those who use an arm or other device to be able to continue participation. This participation by a wide range of people is what makes bowls so important to communities like Maleny. Congratulations to Scott Alexander who has managed to play and win thanks to both an arm device and his mobility scooter. Well done Scott. Scott was a rink winner for the past two weeks. This goes to show where there’s a will there’s a way.

Temperament: Shelby is a lovely natured and friendly young girl who does not enjoy living in the refuge. She is a little strong on a lead at first but is learning her basic obedience. Shelby seems OK with most dogs she has met but, like most Staffy types, prefers to be the only dog. The perfect home would be with people who have the time for her.
