The Ordinary vs. CeraVe Deciem launched The Ordinary in 2016. The brand is well-known for its straightforward recipes and inexpensive costs. Their products are well-known for their ability to decrease acne scars, reduce inflammation, and soothe dry skin.

CeraVe is a significantly older trademark owned by L’Oréal that was created in 2005. They are wellknown for their sensitive skin products and their unique composition, which contains three important ceramides.

CeraVe products have received more stamps of recognition from the National Eczema Association than any other brand due to their effectiveness in healing dry skin. They also make wonderful acne-clearing products.

CeraVe vs. The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser The Ordinary only makes one cleanser, the Squalane Cleanser, whereas CeraVe has multiple cleansers for various skin types. The two popular CeraVe cleansers for this comparison: the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser and the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser.

The Ordinary Squalane cleanser is suitable for all skin types, although it is especially beneficial to sensitive skin. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is recommended for dry skin, while CeraVe Foaming Cleanser is recommended for oily face.

CeraVe also makes an acne-prone cleanser that contains salicylic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells and prevent breakouts.

If you have oily skin or find that mild cleansers do not fully wash your skin or create breakouts, I suggest the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser is intended for oily skin types and cleans the skin more effectively than The Ordinary’s squalane cleanser.

I wouldn’t suggest the CeraVe Foaming cleanser over The Ordinary Squalane cleanser if you have dry or dehydrated skin like mine. The Ordinary product moisturises and hydrates the skin better.

Because The Ordinary Squalane cleanser is suitable for all skin types, you may prefer it if you have combination skin.
