Our Gold Award Honorees

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that Girl Scouts can earn, achieved by only 5-6 percent of eligible Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors annually. Earning the Gold Award requires a suggested 80 hours of planning and implementing a challenging, large-scale project that is innovative, engages others, and has a lasting impact on its targeted community with an emphasis on sustainability. Girl Scout Leadership and Innovation Awards: A Tribute to Achievement

In 2011, A Tribute to Achievement continued its mission of raising funds and in-kind revenues to benefit girls, many of whom could not otherwise afford to participate in Girl Scouting. The 2011 event honored Doris Christopher, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Pampered Chef, with the Luminary Award and Monica Weed of Navigant Consulting with the Girl Scouts’ Own Award. Additionally, BlueCross Blue Shield of Illinois received the Corporate Appreciation Award and Leo Burnett USA received the World’s Strongest Girl Award.
