Teen Strives to Have Fun Staying Fit Naperville, IL, resident and Girl Scout Ambassador Elyse Stompanato doesn’t mind doing her chores around the house. She’ll mow the lawn, clean and walk the dogs just to keep fit.

After participating in fitness overnights with Girl Scouts, Elyse realized that workouts didn’t have to be work. She recommends injecting fun into each and every healthy living activity.

“Tasks like these help me get active, and they are so simple,” Elyse said.

“Make it an adventure,” Elyse advised. “Healthiness is an important component to life.”

On top of every-day chores, Elyse practices healthy living by dancing at least twice a week and eating balanced meals. During her 12 years as a Girl Scout, the 17-year old learned how to make healthy living fun and beneficial. “I just always try to have fun working out; I never see it as something I have to do, but rather a chance to see all my friends that I dance with,” she said.

She encourages girls to always be conscious of what they eat and to monitor their activity levels. She took her passion for fitness and health, and turned it into a website for teen girls.
