Ever since he could remember, Damian always had an interest in photography. This was ever more prevalent with the growth of social media and its exposure. Damian started studying architecture in 2015. In 2017 he bought his first camera. As if learning how to shoot photography wasn’t hard enough, he chose to learn how to shoot with film rather than digital photography. He liked the idea of film being more hands on and the learning curve that would come with it. Naturally, studying architecture, he began to practice photographing buildings near his home and school. Two and half years after getting his first camera, he finally found his photographic style.
On a thesis trip to Washington D.C. right before the 2020 pandemic, he took an single photo of The Dept. Of Housing and Urban Development building by Marcel Breuer that made him understand his style and what he wanted to express in his photography. His photographs aim to capture the timelessness of each work of architecture with emphasis on the form and how the light is cast on each structure. He limits the amount of people, cars, vegetation and other distractions in each photograph to put the most attention on the architecture
