PROJECT SUBTITLE: MISSISSIPPI BIKEWAY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
For this project, I wanted to find a better way for pedestrians and bikers to get onto campus while avoiding traffic along University Ave. I took inspiration from the Cykelslagen in Denmark to create an elevated bike highway through the tree canopy along the BNSF railyard. It uses phosphor pavement that “charges” during the day to illuminate the path at night. The path also provides a much needed connection point from the west and from downtown.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In this project, we were tasked with creating a tree garden in the space next to the Bell Museum. I had been enamored by the effects of glacial activity after seeing the exhibit on glaciers in the Bell Museum
Journey Through Time
Bell Museum
PROJECT SUBTITLE: GLACIERS
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
To begin the process, I made a collage combining the empty site and components of glacial landsacpes. From there, I created a working clay model to assist in the development of the site. I had created a mission statement as well to explain the guiding principles
A tree garden is a living landscape that changes with time. This design tries to emphasize the change of the landscape through landforms reminiscent of the aftermath of ancient glaciers running through the site. The old growth coniferous trees on the hills contrasts the growing deciduous trees along the path. These deciduous trees are larger and more numerous to the north of the site, reflecting the slow movement of the theoretical glacier.
