BOOKING YOUR TICKETS The Box Office is open Mon-Sat 10am to 7pm. You can book in person, by phone - 023 8067 1771 - or online at www.nuffieldtheatre.co.uk. For information on ticket prices, concessions, discounts and group rates please refer to this season’s brochure.

BEFORE YOU GET HERE Approximate running times for productions can be obtained from the Box Office after the first performance or from Front of House staff when you are at the theatre. Some shows contain loud noises (such as gun shots), smoke effects or strobe lighting as part of the performance. Information on effects being used is displayed in the foyer. If you need to know in advance please ask the Box Office when booking.

DID YOU KNOW? > The word ‘theatre’ means ‘a place for seeing’. > In pantomime the Fairy always enters from the right (stage right) and the villain from the left (stage left). > It is considered unlucky to utter the last line of a play until the actual performance.

ACCESS We aim to make The Nuffield as accessible as possible for everyone. We have a number of Audio Described performances, Touch Tours & BSL Interpreted performances. For full details of performances, wheelchair access and our hearing enhancement system please refer to this season’s brochure. If you have any concerns or particular issues you would like to talk through with us, please call the Box Office. YOU’VE ARRIVED!

We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the show to give enough time to collect your tickets from the Box Office (if you need to) and to buy drinks & refreshments from the Studio Café Bar or Shop.

FACILITIES THE STUDIO CAFÉ BAR Open from 10.30am - 2.30pm & 6pm - 11pm Monday – Friday 6pm - 11pm Saturday (performance nights only) Offers a fully licensed bar & delicious food in a contemporary setting with a relaxed atmosphere. We strongly recommend that you reserve a table if you wish to eat pre-show. This can be done by calling the Box Office on 023 8067 1771. Please note that at busy times we cannot guarantee that we will be able to serve food to customers who have not made reservations. Save queuing during the interval & pre-order your drink at the bar! THE SHOP Located on the left hand side entrance to the auditorium, it offers non-alcoholic drinks, sweets, crisps & icecreams, & is open from before the start of the show until the end of the interval.

TOILETS Ladies toilets are located just past the stairs in the left hand entrance to the auditorium. Gents toilets are just before the stairs in the right hand entrance to the auditorium. There is a Disabled toilet with baby changing facilities opposite the Box Office.

SEATING For Main House shows, your seats will be clearly shown on your ticket. Seats 1-26 in Rows A - M & NW are reached by taking the right hand entrance to the auditorium. Seats 27-51 in Rows A-M & N-W are on the left hand side of the auditorium. There are ushers at all entrances to help you find your seats.

Studio shows are ticketed but do not have reserved seating, therefore it is advisable to arrive early for the best seats. Please note that audience members must remain in their allocated seats once inside the auditorium/studio. It is not permitted to sit in the aisles, on the floor or on the banisters. Running is not acceptable in the foyer, auditorium or studio.

ANY PROBLEMS? If you have any questions or problems during your visit please talk to one of the Front of House team & they will endeavour to help you. You will be able to easily identify Front of House staff by their black uniforms.

LATECOMERS If you arrive after the start of a show in the Main House, you will not be seated until a suitable break in the performance. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission. No latecomers will be admitted to Studio shows.

DURING THE PERFORMANCE • • • • • • •

The doors to the auditorium open approximately 30 minutes before the show. You can take drinks bought in The Studio Café Bar into the auditorium. Please switch off all mobiles/iPods/electronic devices before entering the auditorium/studio. Please note that photography/video recording is prohibited. Please ensure that noise is kept to a minimum. Children under 14 should be supervised in all theatre spaces. The interval is normally between 15-20 minutes long.

AFTER THE SHOW Check you haven’t left any personal belongings behind! Please return your glasses to the bar. We want to know what you think! Please take a few minutes to fill in an audience questionnaire which will be emailed to you after the event– we would greatly appreciate your feedback.

EXTRAS Meet the Cast

For shows with this option please check this season’s brochure. Come along after the show and meet the cast & director. There will be short break at the end of the show for the cast to change & for you to use the toilets or get a drink, after which you will be called back into the auditorium where you will have the chance to ask the cast & director questions about the show.

Post-show Parties

For shows with this option please check this season’s brochure. These wrap parties are held in The Studio Café Bar after the show, & will feature live music/DJs, drink offers, bar extension, plus you might even get to meet the cast!

Backstage Tours

Find out more about The Nuffield from the people who know it best! Have a look behind the scenes, learn about tricks of the trade, theatre traditions & superstitions, & see if you can spot our resident ghost! Available before shows where appropriate. The Nuffield Theatre Company tours educational shows to primary & secondary schools across Hampshire. A range of workshops are available for many of the season’s productions for schools. Teachers can download a copy of our schools newsletter from our website, along with resource packs for Nuffield productions & further details of the workshops that are available. Many of these workshops can be tailored to suit the needs of your group.
