Specialised Master’s student ®architecture and technology option

Before I went to architecture school, it was difficult for me to define what is meant by an architect. In the environment where I grew up, the architect was confused with the engineer.

In architecture school, I gradually discovered the architect through the great names in the field of architecture and their philosophy.

I understood and accepted that the architect is at the same time a solution provider, an artist and a technician. The solution provided by the architect integrates a realistic dimension, impregnated by the search for beauty.

The architect develops the landscape, while integrating a dimension of sustainability and technology.

Today, I have a deep passion for providing architectural solutions to societal problems, while having a great consideration for the technological evolution in the discipline: I discover myself progressively as a committed architect.

To research, to imagine with freedom a solution to a societal problem, this definition of the professional that is the architect suits me.

Enhancement and protection of a lake in an urban environment

Academic project : First year of Master degree studio

Site: Lome, West Africa

Located in the centre of the city of Lomé, in the Lomé 2000 district, the Bè lake was originally a retention basin for rainwater in case of heavy rain. Today, it is an urban wasteland, a place where people from the surrounding area dump their rubbish and a source of odour pollution.

Enhance the urban wasteland by creating a park, to include it in the urban fabric of the city of Lomé; protect the lake by consolidating its banks, following a stepped layout based on the radius of its nest in rainy weather.

A 3rd PLACE, A LIBRARY

Proposal for a municipal library

Academic project: Bachelor degree project

Site: Bangante, Cameroon, Central Africa

WAC 33rd Competition (World Architecture Community): Finalist

02

This project is proposed as part of my architecture bachelor’s thesis. A surface area of 1500 m2 was imposed on us, and the constraint of working only on the ground floor. We propose a municipal library for the city of Bangangte, in Cameroon.

Here we think of our library as a third place of everyday life, between home and work. Quiet areas (reading room), a projection room, a computer area, refreshment areas (cafe), secluded areas (external reading point, children’s playground). Talking, drinking and chatting is now possible.

Modern design and colourful architecture: The play of extrusions and colours on the facade and the fence communicate a pleasant and warm atmosphere thanks to the positive energy released by the colours.

VILLA ZAC

Internship project

Site: Djamena, Chad, Central Africa

Private Villa Project
03

This project is proposed for an expatriate family living in France, who plan to return permanently to their country of origin Chad by 2024.

A duplex with a modern design, a play of cubic volumes, full and empty, this villa has a total of six rooms. It has a swimming pool which was not part of the project manager’s expectations, but which will be much appreciated and validated.

A terrace on the top level will allow you to enjoy a relaxing space with a view of the surroundings. The project is set in a more or less untouched environment with beautiful surrounding nature.

DIAGONAL AND SQUARE

Between swimming and socialising

Academic project : First year of Master degree studio

Site: Brussels, Belgium

Master plan
04

The main idea of this project was to create a swimming pool. From this, we decide to add more accompanying features in purpose to facilitate the integration through socialization. Our conceptual approach is based on Square and diagonals. Each square is reserved for a specific function and has a square space: the socialisation space. The great one is used for the swimming pool. The diagonals define the alignment of the square and the roof’s shape.

The swimming activity is thought to be practicable in both cold and warm weather.

PARAMETRIC OPTIMISATION

Optimise an existing building with a parametric approach

Site: Larnaca, Cyprus, Europe

05

The building in which the analyses are carried out is a ninestorey building located in Larnaca, Cyprus. For our project, we will assume that it is an ordinary urban building, with fully glazed facades (dressed in double glazed curtain wall).

This type of building, which corresponds to the majority of office buildings, has been analysed and has the drawback of spending a lot of energy on cooling because of the total exposure of the facades to solar radiation.

Solar radiation analysis of existing Tower Optimisation of form for wind circulation Study sun position to add double skin wind analyses of existing Tower Building under study in its context Optimisation for maximise solar radiation surface step 1 Optimisation for maximise solar radiation surface step 2
21
Final optimation form

We propose a sustainable building with an optimised shape and orientation to facilitate the circulation of air currents around its edges, a double solar facade acting as a brise soleil and allowing energy production.

IMMEUBLE MIXTE

Internship project

Site: Lome, Togo, West Africa

06

This project is proposed as part of an internship in a law firm. I participated in all stages of the design. My contribution was made through the realization of plans, sections and 3D photorealistic renderings.

It is a mixed-use building, with shops and shops on the ground floor and flats on the upper floors. The building is located in the capital of Togo, Lomé. The final volume was obtained by starting from a rectangular volume and then extrusions and intrusions were made to create full and empty effects.
