It is less a portfolio but more a picture brochure of my works over the last two years. It is said that There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes , so is Architecture field. Therefore, I have only tried to present you with images and illustrations of what I learnt about history, heritage and one of the possibilities to have a new construction here. That's why there's so little text in it, while so many images to represent the atmosphere as a real architecture. And to talk about the architectural design in a historical context, there are always limitations that is easy to favour one than the other. These limitations are bothering indeed, whereas the struggle pushes to the right direction, the direction that all the buildings, new and old, echo together with the same rythm. That, makes sence. Given this, I attempt to organize this portfolio following scale sequece from urban, architecture to exhibition even the research on the structural details. 1st
project is an urban design in Mantova city and its rural area (p.p 2-7). The
concept Ruritage (heritage for rural regeneration) is to establish accessible transportation, such as bus routes, pathways, etc. between key spots of agriculture, landscape and heritage, and thus to reconnect the city and the rural area. 2nd and 3rd projects are of one series having both architectural design and exhibition design (p.p 8-19). The proposal of architecture is to provide an art community for artists with workshop, temporary residence and exhibition space in the courtyard of a convent in Mantova. Meanwhile, it is to curate an exhibition about Nature in the adjacent church San Cristoforo. 4th project is a competition in Rome (20-23). The design contains three parts - logo, fashion show and thermal bath architecture - bringing new ideas to the reuse of Villa Adriana. 5th project is a research programme during my internship (2425). The research on the sea-level rise effects in the Venice Lagoon required for the illustrations of drainage system underground. The above is the index and content of this portfolio.
