GX Giacomini Expansion System The GX Giacomini Expansion System is a distribution system for sanitary and heating/ cooling systems including PEX-b pipes and brass fittings which sealing is ensured by a polymeric ring. The shape memory of the plastic components and the special fitting profiles ensure tightness and reliability for the entire life cycle of the system. The GX system exploits the plastic shape memory of its components to connect the system thus
enhancing the performance also through the special profile of its fittings. The gradual expansion of the pipes coupled to the ring enables to insert the fitting which the force generated by the elastic return of the polymeric elements will block in time. The final result will be a fitting with enhanced mechanical features compared to the single pipe.
Corrosion-free PEX-b pipes are manufactured according to the most strict regulations to support long-term effects of high temperatures and pressures of hydraulic systems while ensuring full compliance with the highest hygiene standards. The range provides different thicknesses and diameters. The special polymeric rings are designed to bear expansion stress when installed and to also ensure optimal tightness of the fittings in time. In addition, the rings have a shaped upper edge for correct installation on the pipes. The fittings are made with CW617N (CuZn40Pb2) brass, which complies with the specific regulations in force so that they can be used in sanitary systems as well. The fittings feature a profile which does not require O-rings to guarantee perfect tightness of the pressurized system. The GX system tools provide for rapid and flexible fitting of the entire range, reducing to the minimum possible errors; it also includes all types of expanders (manual, battery-powered and electric) and adaptors for the various expansion heads.
