One Field, One Family Swinging For The Stars Written by: Gabrielle Pitts

Raegan Randall

The Glendale Softball team has had a great season. Their team consisted of four great senior leaders this year. As well as many other strong athletes, that helped slide in some victories. The Softball team also has a reason to celebrate and praise Coach Mason. Coach Mason has been coaching at Glendale for 9 years, and this season he has finally reached his one-hundredth win against Bolivar. Avery Skye (12) is in charge of calling out their unique cheers and hyping up the batter. The softball team is one big family, and they enjoy their time together in the dugout cheering for their teammates.

Addison Letterman (12) stretches to record the out.

Raegan Randall (12) plays catcher and first baseman, and is currently committed to Truman State University. Raegan started playing Softball when she was young stating “I couldn’t even hit the ball of the Tee, I saw the grit, and I went after it, and I am so glad I didn’t give up.” Everytime Raegan steps up to the plate, she spins her bat to see her Louisville sticker, and then spins it again. Raegan states “I hit dingers, it’s my favorite thing about the game.” Raegan’s favorite softball memory is seeing growth and improvement throughout her four years playing softball.

Cami Randall (10) plays every position in Softball besides pitcher and catcher. She loves a bag of colorful goldfish and orange juice to fuel her up before a game. Cami’s walk up song is “Everlong” by Foo Fighters. Cami said she strives to learn from her mistakes on the field “reflecting on my mistakes when I make them. When I make the mistake more than once, I’m not really reflecting, I’m just forgetting that it happened.” Being on a team with your older sister can be difficult at times. Cami explains “there’s moments when she’s helpful, and moments when she’s not.”
