EXECUTIVE LETTER

40% INCREASE IN

TOURS & DAY ACTIVITIES

Dearest Friends, We are blessed to be stewards of Ghost Ranch and to personally witness the enrichment of every guest in our care. We are also immensely appreciative of all of the supporters of Ghost Ranch, those who invest their money, their time as volunteers, their ideas and their passion for this transformative and healing space. Funds donated in 2014 assisted us with: • The first annual Wisdom Sharing event • Underwriting of 280 Programs for adults and youth of all ages • Investment in the infrastructure including a new sewer and water line, dining hall roof and HVAC system, and sustainable grounds improvement • The Community Day Camp and Museum programs for area children • The partnership with the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps for trail restoration of the new and improved Matrimonial Trail The investment into these initiatives resulted in a deficit in 2014. In following our 5-year business plan, we will continue to invest in the repair and improvements of the facilities, the wetlands and aqueduct, and key revenue-generating strategies. We will still celebrate how far we have come; since 2008 our revenues have grown from $3.7 million to $4.7 million (in Abiquiu), and in one year from 2013 to 2014 from $4.4 million to $4.7 million. Most important are the numbers of lives that have been touched, surrounded by love and learning – numbers far beyond the tangible millions. As you are all so aware, Ghost Ranch is a phenomenal place. We are accomplishing more than has ever been accomplished before in the number of guests who are inspired by their experience in spiritual, mental and physical development. We are building up neglected physical facilities and land in sustainable ways. We will continue all of this growth in the next five years following our Strategic Plan, in initiatives that will be appreciated by many future generations to come. And we will know that God will lead and surround us all with the energy to keep Ghost Ranch viable, relevant and enriching to all. In service and gratitude,

Debra Hepler

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Quiet and diligent, year after year, our Silversmithing program has been transforming peoples’ lives for over 40 years. In 2014 Dale Smith handed the torch to his assistant of 10 years, Judith Foster. Once his student, Judith’s enrollment in Silversmithing created a whole new career and “a feeling of accomplishment and achievement I have never before experienced,” she states.

MUSEUMS in 2014

Judith is not alone. Over the last 13 years, others have come to the Ranch, experienced our Silversmithing classes, and gone on to create new lives for themselves.

ENRICHING LIVES The Mission Of Ghost Ranch Is To Enrich Lives… Enrichment from the beauty and expansiveness of the landscape as well as from rich and diverse course offerings; courses designed to expand minds, hearts, creativity and awareness of how to live life more fully and authentically.

A TRIUMPHANT SUCCESS Wisdom Sharing - A Deepening Retreat October 13-17 When the cottonwoods were at their peak of gold over 300 participants came not only to hear from the wisdom of Dr. Hyun Kyung Chung, Gloria Steinem and Alice Walker but to experience important teachings from our Native American and Native Hispanic women elders, our moderator Melanie Harris and from each other. The jubilant energy of this event was palpable and the enthusiastic feedback it generated allows us to see that more forums for such wisdom exchange are desired.

Youth Week Increases 200% since 2012 Significant growth was seen in 2014 with our Youth Service Corp, Youth Week school programs, summer swim lessons and 2nd annual Community Camp. The presence of these young people and their leaders bring laughter, learning and confidence to know that our future generations desire a connection to creation and community.

NGRF IN 2014 NGRF 2014 Successes

The goal of the National Ghost Ranch Foundation is to drive the fundraising for the Ranch. These

activities will support the Annual fund as well as the Endowment Funds that have been established over the years. In 2014, NGRF members made thank you calls to long term donors and followed up with lapsed donors. In addition, the 2nd annual Ghost Ranch Auction was held in September. Over the last 2 years, almost $18,000 has been raised through the Auction which is held in the fall.

How to support NGRF • NGRF provides many ways to support the Ranch. • Join the Compadres Program at the Compadre or Compadre Gold level with a donation, • Volunteer to help at the Ranch as a greeter, • Join a NGRF committee to support our donor stewardship activities, • Donate collectibles, art or other items for the Auction. IF you have any interest, please contact Mary Martinez at the Ranch
