C AMPOSANTO MEMORIAL

N AT I O N A L GHOST RANCH F O U N DAT I O N 280 PRIVATE DRIVE 1708 | ABIQUIU, NM DONATIONS@GHOSTRANCH.ORG

New Mexico is a land of haunting loveliness. Travel away from the land and our hearts are drawn back to its beauty, its serenity, and its mystery. The earliest dwellers of these magical valleys believed that the land and its people are as one—the land is a part of us and we become a part of the land. Whatever your spiritual beliefs, the Camposanto Wall is a place of remembrance for all who have loved this land. Set against the majestic red rocks of Box Canyon as they reach toward the sky, The Camposanto Wall is a sacred place dedicated to the memory of those who have loved Ghost Ranch. Camposanto is also often translated as “holy field” and is used throughout the world as a term for sacred space.

Each memorial bronze plaque set into the Camposanto Wall notes the honoree’s name, and dates of birth and death. The plaque’s location with a dedication and biography is recorded in a memorial book stored in the Ghost Ranch Archives. To assure uniformity, Ghost Ranch assumes the task of ordering the plaques.

If you have questions about planned or memorial gifts call 505.685.1003 or e-mail us at donations@ghostranch.org.

The wall was created for those who wish to make a memorial gift on behalf of friends, loved ones or themselves. A portion of the Camposanto Wall gift will be placed in the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund and the remainder covers the installation of the plaque, maintenance of the wall and the meditation space surrounding it. CHIMNEY ROCK SOCIET Y

NGRF PERMANENT ENDOWMENT FUND

In 1995, the National Ghost Ranch Foundation (NGRF) created a planned giving society to ensure the future of Ghost Ranch. The named it after Chimney Rock to convey the beauty and permanence of the transformational landscape.

To reduce confusion, the fund formerly known as the Chimney Rock Permanent Endowment Fund has been renamed the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund.

Chimney Rock Society (CRS) members have included NGRF in their planned giving options. A planned gift is most often received by NGRF following the donor’s passing. CRS members may designate their gifts for capital or annual operating costs, restricted funds or the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund. Please consult a legal and/or tax professional about planned gifts. We also ask that you notify us of your planned giving intentions in advance.

Only a donor may restrict a gift the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund. The corpus of the endowment is permanently restricted and the NGRF board of directors designates annually how the earnings are used. CRS members are not required to designate their planned gift to the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund, although they may choose to do so. Similarly, planned gifts received from Chimney Rock Society members are not automatically applied to the NGRF Permanent Endowment Fund, as only a donor can make that designation.
