What are your makeup tips for

A CINDERELLA BRIDAL LOOK?

Complexion Think of it as a painting canvas that needs first to be evened out, before applying makeup, for a smooth finish.

TIP

On a clean skin, I would recommend moisturizing the skin first and give the moisturizer a chance to be absorbed before applying any further makeup. You don’t want wetness to interfere with dry shadows or powders.

To Make Makeup Last TIP

Eye Makeup

Be Careful With Foundations

Beach Weddings or a Casual Affair. In general I would recommend going with a subtler look with natural colors. Colors such as nudes and peaches for a sunkissed complexion (Strobing can play a big role here).

Do not skip priming your skin with a primer that is suitable to your skin type. A good primer will work on diminishing fine lines, fill in your pores, protect your skin and with certain formulas it can add to your overall facial luminosity. Make sure that the primer is compatible with your foundation. Let the primer get absorbed for a minute or two, and then start applying foundation.

Foundations are not made to cover all imperfections. Full coverage of foundation makes face look as if wearing a mask. For areas where full coverage is required, I would rather use a concealer; before setting everything with a fixing spray/powder.

TIP

Your complexion should look matt in general, except for the areas you need them to catch the light, such as the top of your cheek bones, your temples, under and on top of the brow bone (nowadays called Strobing).

The location and the theme of your big day should influence on the pallet you choose for your makeup.

Formal Weddings. You can turn it up a notch by going for darker eyeshadow colors or even opt for a mild smoky eye.

TIPS

• Always curl your lashes before mascara. Needless to say that water proof mascara is a no brainer for such an emotional day. • With mascara the more, the merrier! Apply your first coat, let it dry before adding another, and repeat. • Coat your lashes with translucent powder before your mascara, for volume and an elongated lashes effect; thank me later. • Falsies, if applied correctly, can make your eyes pop and become hardly noticeable. • If you are not a fan of strip of false lashes, ask your makeup artist about the option of individual lashes. They come in different lengths and can be applied exactly where needed on the lash line, to give an added glamour to the overall eye look.
