2018 AQUATICS SEASON Welcome to our Brand New Alpharetta City Pool! Amenities include a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, interactive play stations, and a water slide, plus a 10-lane competition pool with depths from 4 feet-12.5 feet, and two diving boards (1-meter, 3-meter). Other new features include a renovated aquatics center, updated locker rooms, a shade pavilion, additional deck space, and a lifeguard training room. Enjoy a Splash-tacular summer season of FUN at the pool!

ALPHARETTA SHARKS SWIM AND DIVE TEAM Swim and dive for fun or competitively, earn awards, make new friends, and experience the excitement of meets!

Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool with a freestyle stroke and backstroke to participate. Daily weekday practices are held May-June.

Comprised of swimmers who live in Alpharetta/Milton and qualify at Atlanta Swim Association League Championship Meet. Weekly practices; swimmers compete at GRPA State Swim Meet.

SWIM LESSONS

Each session meets for six, 50-minute classes Week 1 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Week 2 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Classes are American Red Cross certification. For home swim meet dates or inclement weather, class make-ups will be on Fridays.

SESSION 1 June 5-7 and June 12-14 SESSION 2 June 19-21 and June 26-28 SESSION 3 July 10-12 and July 17-19 SESSION 4 July 24-26 and July 31-August 2 COST $70 Resident; $105 Non-Resident

PARENT & CHILD (Age 18 months-3 years)

Focus is on familiarizing child with the water; parent participation required. Includes basic skills, adjusting to water environment, maintaining front/back positions in water, blowing bubbles, and voluntarily going under water.

PRESCHOOL (Age 3-4)

LEVEL 4 (Age 6-12)

Increase form and distance using different strokes. Build endurance in front crawl and backstroke, plus addition of new strokes.

LEVEL 5 (Age 6-12)

Intensive stroke work using all strokes. Basic lifesaving, rescue, and safety skills are introduced. Pre-requisite swimming skills required to enroll.

Blow bubbles, work on putting face in the water, do leg kicks, push off side of pool, floating, and begin arm strokes.

STROKE CLINIC (Age 8-12)

LEVEL 1 (Age 5)

ADULT BEGINNER-INTERMEDIATE (Age 13+)

Beginner kicks and arm strokes. Swimmers learn to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.

LEVEL 2 (Age 5)

Fundamentals of basic aquatic skills. Includes learning to glide/float without support, alternating arm and leg actions on front and back.

LEVEL 3 (Age 6-12)

Stroke development. Guided practice helps to develop proficiency. Includes survival floating, front crawl and elementary backstroke. Headfirst entries are introduced.

Focus is on stroke improvement and endurance. Must be a proficient swimmer to enroll.

Familiarizes participants with water. Skills taught include the survival float and basic swim strokes. Individuals with some swim experience will work with instructor to perfect strokes.

FIN FUN MERKIDS (Age 8+)

Learn to swim like legendary creatures of the deep sea! Put on your tails and swim as mer-people.

KEY LOG ROLLING (Age 7+)

Learn ancient art of log rolling while improving balance, building confidence, and having a blast!
