Priority Group These days being online is important for everyone. Whoever you are, technology and the internet can help improve people’s lives in simple, prac?cal ways. Of course geHng online isn’t easy for everyone, and we want to help remove the barriers faced by disabled people in geHng online and geHng the most out of the Internet. According to research, 43% of disabled people have never been online. We want to help reduce that figure. OMen, people with disabili?es have a lot to gain from digital tools, and we are passionate about helping them to unlock the poten?al of the internet Delivery So far as a project, Get Caerphilly Online has mostly engaged with people who don’t have par?cular accessibility needs in rela?on to going online, and we are keen to re-‐ dress the balance by offering FREE sessions that help people with disabili?es (and the organisa?ons that support people with disabili?es) to go online and reap the rewards of a digital life. Best Prac4ce Through working closely with the organisa?ons that support people with disabili?es, and council departments that support people with disabili?es, we aim to develop a range of tailored support which focuses on allowing people with disabili?es to connect to the internet on their own terms.
Partnership We currently work with CCBC Suppor?ng People, Disability Wales and RNIB but we are keen to work with all organisa?ons in the borough through our Get Caerphilly Online Network.

Ideas We are keen to try out new things, whatever it takes to engage with people that need our support so if you think of anything let us know and we can work together to make it happen. Available Support Get Caerphilly Online has a dedicated officer to deliver support to people with disabili?es. We are working closely with CCBC’s Suppor?ng People department to make them aware of our project and how people and organisa?ons can access our FREE support. Although we are aiming to do so eventually, we aren’t currently able to offer 1-‐1 support at people’s homes, but we are able to organise suitable venues from which to run group sessions.
Referrals If you have a group of people ready to do a session or you think would be interested contact Angharad to discuss and we will bring our kit and broadband out to deliver the sessions. Volunteers We are always looking for volunteers to join us so we can expand our delivery to more people and help people develop their skills. If you know anyone who would like to volunteer just let us know and we will give them training and mentor them to deliver.
