See The Show That Made Country Music Famous!

I

t all began on the night of Nov. 28, 1925, when an announcer on Nashville radio station WSM introduced fiddle player Uncle Jimmy Thompson as the first performer on a new show soon to be known around the globe as the Grand Ole Opry. Today the magic continues. Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Mel Tillis, and Carrie Underwood are among the stars that are part of the Opry family. Thousands of people make pilgrimages every year to see and hear these stars and more, while millions tune in to enjoy the Opry via 650 WSM, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, syndicated radio, or opry.com. Fans can also get more up-to-the-minute information and news by following the Grand Ole Opry on Facebook and Twitter.

They even have an iPhone app. N ow in its 85th year, the show has seen its share of history – including last May’s devastating flood that temporarily left the show without a permanent home. But the Grand Ole Opry House was refurbished in time to celebrate its October birthday with country music legend Dolly Parton and superstar Taylor Swift, among others. The Opry House is now back better than ever. Starting in late January you can take a tour of the all-new backstage areas of the Opry House, including 18 dressing rooms with new themes highlighting some of the Opry’s most famous stars and celebrating its most famous stories. Tours are available seven days a week. The Grand Ole Opry is performed every Friday and Saturday night, plus Tuesdays March through December.
