IFA has been given the go-ahead to take place in 2020, based on a reworked concept that puts health and safety first. Taking place during just three days – from 3 to 5 September – this year’s IFA special edition falls well within the restrictions imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Focusing on IFA’s core functions, IFA 2020 special edition will support brands, manufacturers, retailers, innovators and media in connecting and celebrating innovations across consumer electronics and home appliances.

The concept for IFA 2020 was developed in close collaboration with public health authorities in Germany in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants. The organizers will make sure that social distancing, careful crowd control and other effective public hygiene measures are all in place. As a result, IFA 2020 will not be open to the public, but will run as an invitation-only event.

Based on the current safety regulations, IFA 2020 will effectively be run as four standalone events, alongside a virtual extension, with not more than 1,000 attendees for each event per day. These events will be:

• An IFA Global Press Conference: This will be a showcase for brands to celebrate their latest innovations that will drive the recovery and rebound of the industry. Exhibitors will be able to get into the media spotlight by presenting their products and services to a vast, global media network.

• SHIFT MOBILITY meets IFA NEXT: This will be an exclusive live event for the international tech community. Start-ups and rapidly emerging segments, such as connected mobility, will drive innovation more than ever before.

• IFA global markets: Europe’s largest sourcing event for OEMs and ODMs for manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Businesses will come to network, meet with partners and explore new opportunities.

• IFA business, retail and meeting lounges: The sales engine for new products and technologies – a platform to meet and strike deals with industry peers.

PTC ASIA 2020: Leading show for power transmission and control industry in Asia

3-6 November 2020, Shanghai

COVID-19 has created a sudden challenge for economic development. After the pandemic is controlled, national economies need trade fairs to resynchronize businesses. The Asian region is no exception, and with that requirement in mind PTC ASIA is again ready to provide a business platform at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 3 to 6 November 2020

After near ly 30 year s of successful performance, the trade show’s annual growth, both in exhibitor numbers and exhibition space, has proved that PTC ASIA is the key platform for power transmission and basic parts trading in Asian markets. At a time of economic globalization, in which China’s booming demands – both in imports and exports – already have a strong impetus, PTC ASIA provides the hub where traders, manufacturers and experts meet.

Themed as “Driven to be SMART”, PTC ASIA 2019 covered 10 thematic segments in hydraulics, pneumatics, seals, gears, motors, couplings and brakes, chains, belts, springs and bearings. The exhibition attracted 1,663 well-known companies from Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Turkey and the United States, among other countries, that showed innovations of intelligent manufacturing on an exhibition area of more than 100,000 square metres. As a result, PTC ASIA has jointly created a large industrial platform across various fields with seven major exhibitions in the same period. The number of visitors increased significantly in 2019 to reach 142,975; this is a remarkable growth rate of 42.1 per cent compared with 2018. This confirmed the trade show’s role as the leading driver for intelligent manufacturing in the power transmission and control industry.

EuroBLECH 2020 (postponed) 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition

9-12 March 2021 in Hanover, Germany

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced the postponement of EuroBLECH, which was scheduled to take place at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Germany from 27 to 30 October 2020. The new dates for the next EuroBLECH, 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, are 9 -12 March 2021. This decision was taken after extensive conversations with all exhibitors and partners over recent weeks and months who have expressed their preference not to hold the show in October, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Uncertainties around travel restrictions in order to maintain the truly international character of the EuroBLECH event were also a concern to many participants.

As part of a recent series of industry surveys, the participants of EuroBLECH indicated their requirement to network and conduct business in order to pave the way for the recovery of the industry following the Covid-19 pandemic. EuroBLECH will therefore offer a virtual hub for the global sheet metal working industry in October. Further information on the Digital Innovation Summit containing details on the Online Presentation Theatre for exhibitors, video on demand options and matchmaking facilities, will be made available on www.euroblech.com.

The German-Thai Chamber of Commerce is ready to answer inquiries regarding EuroBLECH by tel: 66 2 055 0643 or by e-mail at services@gtcc.org.
