Training plan concept workshop on mechatronics development project

In February 2020, the German-Thai Dual Excellence Education (GTDEE) project organised workshops on the mechatronics development project for the practical teachers of Eastern Technological College (E.Tech), who were trained by King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) lecturers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pairote Stirayakorn and Asst. Prof. Dr. Wittawat Tipsuwan. The details are shown below.

GTDEE workshop for Mercedes-Benz apprentices batch 2018

On 5 February 2020, GTDEE team members Senior Manager Dr. Kamonsak Suradom and Manager Mr. Katiphot Kanoknorrasade or ganised a GTDEE wor kshop on presentation techniques for Mercedes-Benz apprentices batch 2018 at Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre, Bangna-Trad Road, Km. 19. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bandit Suksawat, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Technical Education, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), was invited to participate as the workshop instructor.

Introduction of the PAL final examination

On 11 February 2020, CIM Integrated Expert and GTDEE Project Director Mr. Markus Hoffmann and Dr. Kamonsak Suradom introduced the PAL final examination for BMW apprentices batch 2018 at BMW Group (Thailand) Training Centre, Pathum Thani. Furthermore, BMW (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Senior Technical Trainer Mr. Natthapong Lorpisanchai, participated in the event.

Visit to the Thai-German Institute by German delegations

In February, GTCC welcomed Dr. Peter Ramsauer, Head of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Parliament and Delegation to Thailand.

During their mission to Thailand, from 17 to 19 February 2020, GTCC Executive Director Dr. Roland Wein and Mr. Markus Hoffmann visited the Thai-German Institute (TGI), together with Dr. Peter Ramsauer and Mr. Georg Schmidt, German Ambassador to Thailand, on 18 February 2020.

TGI is a joint initiative of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The aim was to create an effective training centre for the transfer of advanced manufacturing technology to Thai industry. It was established as an autonomous institution outside the formal education system, with its activities under the supervision of the Industrial Development Foundation and broad supervision by the Ministry of Industry.

Apart from the work of TGI, the focus of the visit was also on vocational training in Thailand. Representatives from GTCC presented the key activities and outputs of the GTDEE programme.

Visit to Robatherm Co., Ltd.

On 20 February 2020, Mr. Markus Hoffmann and Dr. Kamonsak Suradom visited Robatherm Co., Ltd., located in Rayong. During the visit, they discussed with Robatherm’s Deputy Managing Director Mr. Winyoo Saisanit and Production Manager Mr. Michael Veh on future co-operation under the GTDEE Programme.

Tenth Vocational Education Committee meeting

Amata City Manager, Human Resource Development and Communications, Ms. Timporn Kong-in; and Grohe Siam Limited Human Resources Development Specialist, Ms. Supreeda Siripat.

On 21 February 2020, Dr. Kamonsak Suradom organised the Tenth Vocational Education Committee Meeting (VEC), which was held at Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre, Bangna-Trad Road, Km. 19.

The topics raised during the meeting included:

• The success case of dual vocational education development in Thailand;

• GTCC final examination planning for apprentices batch 2018;

• GTDEE recruitment planning for apprentices batch 2020;

• GTDEE Action Plan 2020.

The representatives from the company partners who participated in the meeting were: Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Co., Ltd. General Manager of National Training, Mr. Van Vuong Nguyen Kim; BMW (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Manager, Qualifications and Training, Mr. Wichit Tangwongcheunsuk and Senior Technical Trainer Mr. Kriskorn Kraichinda; Robert Bosch Automotive Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., On 20 February 2020, Mr. Markus Hoffmann and Dr. Kamonsak Suradom visited Robatherm Co., Ltd., located in Rayong. Presentation Examination for Mercedes-Benz apprentices batch 2018

GTDEE team members Dr. Kamonsak Suradom and Mr. Katiphot Kanoknorrasade organised a presentation examination for Mercedes-Benz apprentices batch 2018 in Automotive Mechatronics, which was held from 25 to 26 February 2020 at the Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre, Bangna-Trad Road, Km. 19. The examination was for 50 apprentices from Don Bosco Technological College Bangkok, Don Bosco Technological College Ban Pong, Samut Prakan Technical College and Eastern Technological College (E.Tech). KMUTNB College of Industrial Technology’s Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chedthawut Poompipatpong, Asst. Prof. Dr. Warit Thammasiriroj and Asst. Prof. Direk Choowichien were invited to participate as the examination committee for this examination.

Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre Grand Opening Ceremony

On 28 February 2020, GTDEE team members Dr. Kamonsak Suradom and Mr. Katiphot Kanoknorrasade, together with GTCC Executive Director Dr. Roland Wein, participated in the Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre Grand Opening Ceremony located at Bangna-Trad Road, Km. 19. The grand opening of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand)’s new training centre was organised in order to provide a contribution to the development of a skilled, quality and high-performance workforce in Thailand with German standards as well as Mercedes-Benz apprentices under GTDEE Programme for Automotive Mechatronics. President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Mr. Roland Folger, delivered the grand opening speech to the participants, followed by a speech by Mr. Eckart Mayer, Director of Customer Services Region Overseas Mercedes-Benz Cars of Daimler AG.

Furthermore, H.E. Mr. Georg Schmidt, German Ambassador to Thailand, and Mr. Varavit Kamphu na Ayuthaya, Advisor to Thailand’s Minister of Education were invited to be honourable witnesses at this ceremony.

Meeting on preparations for the GTCC final examination in logistics

From 3 to 16 Februar y 2020, GTDEE organised the “AdA International – Train the Trainer” (Ausbildung der Ausbilder – AdA) 2020 (basic version) under the mechatronics development project at the Eastern Technological College (E.Tech). Sixteen practical training teachers from Eastern Technological College (E.Tech) and Don Bosco Technological College Bangkok participated in the training. Mr. Markus Hoffmann and Dr. Kamonsak Suradom were the main training instructors. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharin Pho-ngaeon, Deputy Dean of Thai-German Dual Education and E-learning Development Institute, KMUTNB, was also invited to participate as one of the main instructors for the training.

AdA International – Train the Trainer 2020 (basic version), mechatronics development project

From 17 to 18 March 2020, the GTDEE team organised the examination of AdA On 28 Februar y 2020, GTDEE team members Dr. Kamonsak Suradom and Mr. Katiphot Kanoknorrasade participated in a meeting with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitirat Thawornsujaritkul, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, KMUTNB, Rayong campus, to discuss the preparations for the GTCC final examination in logistics for apprentices Batch 2018 of Robert Bosch Automotive Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Amata City. The examination was scheduled to be held in May 2020. The meeting was held at the university.

International – Train the Trainer 2020 (basic version) for the practical training teachers at the Eastern Technological College (E.Tech). In addition, Dr. Surachet Somchai, Managing Director of I Square Premier Solution Co., Ltd. and Mr. Paul Koelker, German expert from KMUTNB, were invited to participate as the examination committee.
