ANDFINALLY Pickerings Plant was established in 1969 and for over 40 years has been operating a successful hire business, specialising in mechanical, non-mechanical and accommodation equipment. Pickerings purchased its first Fassi, an F240.22, from salesman Geoff Allen back in 1998. Fifteen years and 27 cranes later the company is proud to unveil its latest addition to the fleet, an F455A.2.24, to be used for delivering accommodation units from Pickerings’ Swindon depot.
Pickerings Managing Director Mark Chamberlain said: “The new design has a hydraulic extendable bed at the rear which can carry 21’ and 12’ units on the same bed. This will improve our efficiency by reducing the need to draw a trailer behind. The F455A.2.24 has an extra crane jib which extends our range of delivery to tight and inaccessible areas on site, increasing our flexibility for clients. The stability of the lorry body has been designed and improved with Fassi Main Dealer Central Crane Technicians of Chesterfield. Dave, Oliver and Geoff have helped us develop our new lorry from start to finish.”
