The Primer provides information to communities and individuals interested in preservation at the local level who want to plan for the preservation of their historic properties. It focuses on the historic preservation strategies that can identify, evaluate and protect local historic properties and brings together information from various sources into one guiding document. We hope that it will be useful to communities that are beginning to incorporate historic preservation into their overall planning strategies and also to communities where preservation is well underway. Through sound preservation practices, communities across Georgia can potentially enhance their quality of life while at the same time preserving what makes them unique and encouraging economic development.
