Through her studies, Marie learned that our personal experiences, culture and identity influences how we see color. Using layers of acrylic, watercolors, and a variety of drawing materials, she embraced the process of color exploration. Marie tries to portray her personal experiences and love of nature through different color palettes enhanced by adding texture using yarn, thread, beads, and a variety of embroidery stitches. Marie hopes that the pieces she creates can connect the viewer to their life experiences and remind them of their relationship to color, finding their story, any story among the many layers applied to the surface.
