Our Story

Here at George Street Linen our team has well over 20 years experience in bedding and textiles. Working amongst experts from Paris, New York, Australia, New Zealand and China in globally renowned industry professions.

What really sets us apart from other bedding brands is our personal and hands-on process. We oversee every aspect of manufacturing and each stand-alone piece is created and crafted to our highly skilled personal standards. Tested numerous times to ensure there’s quality, style and of comfort.

From awareness of the origin of raw materials to a focus on sustainability, we’re always looking ways to better our process and product. Our fabrics are comfortable, great for everday use and of the finest quality. Cool and crisp Percale Cotton, sophisticated and timeless Linen, or the hypoallergenic, sustainable, and durable Bamboo Linen amongst others. We present a myriad of colours from fresh, understated pastels to strong bold shades.

Sustainability

We sleep easy at night knowing our bed sheets are Oeko-Tex certified. Not only is our luxury bedding better for you, but it’s manufactured in a way that is better for the environment too. Oeko-Tex is the international organisation dedicated to testing and approving textiles for harmful chemicals, dyes and bleaches. The certification guarantees our products haven’t been manufactured using harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde (used in glue), pentachlorophenol (a pesticide and disinfectant) and many, many more toxic chemicals that might end up in your bedding.

Here at George Street Linen, every single one of our products is Oeko-Tex certified. We’ve put our bedding through extensive testing to ensure you’re not cuddling up with chemicals. Say goodbye to skin-irritating, wheeze-inducing bed sheets, and hello to a comfortable (and safe) night’s sleep.

The testing process checks that our textiles are free from more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health. The Standard 100 label that all our products carry mean that every single part of the product is free from harmful chemicals, that’s the threads that make up our crisp and smooth bedding, through to those beautifully soft Microsofty fillings in our Quilts.

Materials

Cotton

Our cotton sheets use only long staple 100% cotton fibres. Using long staple cotton, as opposed to the more common short staple, produces the strongest and finest finish which means little or no pilling.

Linen

Our linen sheets use the strongest Flax fibres from European Flax Plants.

Bamboo

Our Bamboo sheets use Bamboo fibre from Moso Bamboo, the most sustainable of it’s kind, requiring no fertilisers, pesticides or little irrigation.

YKK Zips

Each duvet cover and European pillowcase features a premium YKK zip closure, keeping your quilt or pillow neatly inside and making changing your bed stress-free.

Ties and Loops

All of our duvet covers and inners have matching loops and ties the whole way round, meaning your duvet will stay in place all night long.

Fitted Sheet Labelling

Each of our fitted sheets has two labels to tell you which side is top/ bottom.

Our beautiful Pure linen range has had 4 colours added this season; Cadet, Foliage, Buttercup and Powder. A beautiful relaxed, lived-in look with a lightweight texture providing a lovely sense of freshness and comfort. Crafted from 100% fine European flax, all our fabric has been pre-washed for a soft and textural lived-in look. Perfect for all year round, linen is wonderfully light and breathable keeping you cool in summer and warm in the winter.

Our beautiful pure linen prints are all designed in house by our highly skilled and experienced team. Printed on our 100% European Flax Linen, all our fabric has been pre-washed for a soft and textural lived-in look. Perfect for all year round, linen is wonderfully light and breathable keeping you cool in summer and warm in the winter.

BAMBOO COTTON

Luxuriously silky smooth, hypoallergenic and thermal-regulating to your body temperature, our Bamboo Cotton is perfect for your all year round comfort. With natural thermal-regulating properties, our bamboo cotton range naturally repels odours and allergens and keeps you cool in Summer and warm in Winter, perfect for a good night’s sleep all year round.

SOFT WASHED COTTON

Our Soft Washed Cotton is made using mercerised cotton fibres – mercerization gives the fibres smoothness and lustre. We use the finest size yarns, 80’s & 100’s, and weave multiple threads in the same direction dominating the surface and creating the lustre. Each piece is carefully washed to produce the softest sheets, that drape perfectly over your bed.

COTTON PERCALE

Fresh Cotton Percale is an extremely fine percale weave, and is the epitome of a ‘crisp sheet’. Percale is a very balanced weave, one-yarn-over and one-yarn-under, similar to a basketweave resulting in a matte finish with a cool & crisp feel. Lightweight, breathable and guaranteed to give you the best comfort. Exceptionally durable this fabric just gets better and better with every wash. Great for summer and also for warmer sleepers.

CAMBRIC COTTON

Our Cambric Cotton range is perfect for everyday casual use. Consisting of an airy cotton fabric with a linen look and feel. Perfect for warmer months, this lightweight, soft fabric allows the skin to breathe. Keeping you comfortable whilst looking effortlessly relaxed.

We’re excited to introduce our latest collection made with Liberty fabric, custom printed exclusively for George Street Linen in Italy on wide width Cotton Poplin.

About Liberty

Shortly after opening on Regent Street London in 1875, Arthur Liberty became renowned for his silks. By the 1890s Liberty Fabrics was a byword for the very best of avant-garde textile design. Today, every bit of Liberty fabric is the product of a bespoke production process: hand drawn or painted by the in-house design team in London, Soho. Transformed onto fabric at Liberty’s own Italian printing mill, near Lake Como. Liberty Fabrics are created by skilled technicians who oversee the production of over 300 different designs every year.

CIARA

Ciara is a dense botanical design, reimagined from a popular 1960’s Liberty scarf pattern found in the archives.

RACHEL

Rachel was inspired by a Liberty furnishing fabric called Sedgemere, originally designed in 1988. It features hand-painted botanical flowers nestled among lush green foliage.

Thorpe was drawn for Liberty by the Hayward Studio in 1968. The dense small floral design is reminiscent of Liberty’s iconic 1930s floral prints, and a mixture of these will have provided the inspiration for Thorpe.

THORPE ELYSIAN DAY

Elysian Day is an archival classic, characterised by its parade of exuberantly retroinfused blooms. The design first appeared in a pattern book dating from the late 1910s or early 1920s and was originally used in both dress and furnishing fabrics for Liberty.

Have a healthy nights sleep with our 100% Organic Mulberry Silk. Sourced from Eastern China, the Mulberry silk is spun delicately by silk worms which are harvested twice a year for their amazing silk. These pillowcases come in a range of premium colours and are great for keeping your hair and skin healthy throughout the night.

Exclusively made in Portugal for George Street Linen, the Lisboa Waffle Blanket comes in four colourways. Our pure cotton waffle blanket is generously sized measuring 260cm x 240cm, with a weight of 450gsm and is fully washable. Highly textured to give extra warmth with an ultra-soft finish.

Our supreme soft range is our softest yet. Our unique Microsofty fibre fill gives a supreme soft touch with the cloud-like caress of the fluffiest down. The polyester micro-weave fabric tightly encases the fill weight of 350gsm, keeping out allergens. The fineness of this outer fabric acts as a defence against dust mites and fine particles, perfect for allergy sufferers, and machine washable.

Experience hotel luxury at home with our Siberian Goose Down Quilt, made exclusively with down - wonderfully light, soft and warm. The large and lofty clusters of pure down offer exceptional insulation. We source all our Down from certified farms and we ensure that we use Class A down to offer the best quality and excellent thermal performance. All our covers on these quilts have a tightly woven fabric which acts as a barrier against dust mites. These natural duvets are made with a boxed wall construction, the down filling is held in individual boxes allowing for even distribution and preventing any cold spots!
