This morning, we come together to celebrate and honor 256 of the 374 remarkable young adults we proudly awarded in South Florida as part of our 2025 class of Snow Scholars. Each of these students is beginning an exciting new chapter in their academic journey. This year, the George Snow Scholarship Fund received 1,890 scholarship applications, setting a new record. With the dedication of our amazing Selection Committee, we are confident that the scholars here today will represent themselves, their families, and our Fund with distinction.
Many of our scholars will be attending Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida State University, and the University of Florida. Others will be spreading their wings at institutions like Duke University, Harvard University, Howard University, Morehouse College, the University of Notre Dame, and Yale University.
Today, we proudly announce that these students will receive nearly $4.6 million of the over $5.5 million in scholarships and support services we will award in 2025 to deserving students from Palm Beach and Northern Broward counties.
We owe a special debt of gratitude to our donors, whose generosity makes these scholarships possible, and to our continued partnership with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, which has allowed us to amplify our impact.
What began in 1982 as a tribute to a philanthropic and devoted man has grown into a community asset—an alliance of individuals, corporations, private foundations, and community service organizations committed to the belief that education is the key to a better life. When an applicant is selected as a scholarship recipient, we support them as we would our own children. Our ongoing scholar support services and programs, including the Snow Success Career Development Curriculum, the Emergency Fund Program, Monday Motivational Messages, the Scholar Closet, college physical exams, and the computer and college supply initiative, are just a few ways we assist our Snow Scholars.
To everyone who has made this amazing morning possible: on behalf of our scholars, we express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and commitment. Scholars, we are incredibly proud of you and your achievements. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact you will make in your academic fields, careers, and communities.
Welcome to the Snow Family!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Tim Snow

Boca Raton Exchange Club Foundation Scholarship
In 1986, The Boca Exchange Club formed a charitable scholarship organization for students in need. The Exchange Club raised funds through donations and golf tournaments until we had a self-sustaining amount of money to grant scholarships. One of our first donations was $100 from Snow Realty in 1988.
The Boca Exchange Scholarship Foundation has granted scholarships since 1991. We typically select public high school students from Boca Raton, attending a Florida public college or university, majoring in the engineering, sciences, or medical fields. Our program went beyond financial assistance, and all we asked for in return was an invitation to their graduation.

Jay treated his staff like they we part of his family and always offered “Fatherly” advice. Sadly, Jay passed away in March of 2022. This scholarship is a way to honor Jay by keeping his legacy alive, while advancing the opportunities for the children of the employees of Boca West Country Club who remain so dedicated and loyal to the Club!

This scholarship is in memory of Charles N. (Chuck) Kurucz, a University of Miami engineering professor who sailed Biscayne Bay for decades enjoying the ocean in all its splendor. An early environmentalist, he worked to develop technologies to clean polluted water. He was the first in his family to attend college and felt strongly that a college education should be accessible to other first generation college students. Working his way through college as a musician, Chuck earned a PhD while starting a family with his high school sweetheart Joan. Our family hopes that the selected scholarship recipients will honor Chuck’s memory by completing their college degree, and applying what they’ve learned to better our world’s environment, especially our oceans.
Clyde W. Davis Memorial Scholarship
The Gladys L. Davis Trust was created under the Will of Gladys L. Davis who died in 1995. Her husband, Clyde Davis, who died in 1985 was one of the original pharmacists working directly with Walgreen’s founder, Charles R. Walgreen in Chicago. When Walgreen’s went public in 1927, Mr. Davis was one of the original employee stockholders. A substantial portion of their estate was in Walgreen’s stock which has remained a solid investment even today. As the trust was to be distributed to charitable organizations, many local charitable organizations were beneficiaries, including the George Snow Scholarship Fund, creating a scholarship fund for local qualified students aspiring to a career in pharmacy.

Fairfax Wood Scholarship Foundation Scholarship
When our son, Mark, left for college, we donated two boxes of “The Hardy Boys” to The Wayne Barton Study Center Library. While there, Wayne had us tour his computer room… filled with broken computers! We supplied a new set, and shortly after, scholarships to his students. Hence, the Fairfax Wood Scholarship Foundation formation.
The Fairfax Wood Scholarship Foundation was inspired by the social and educational work of our eldest son, Bruce, a New Jersey-born Princeton graduate, and chief engineer of Pres-T-Con Limited, a large family-owned prestressed concrete business in the Caribbean. His efforts in Trinidad were centered on the reeducation of teens who had left school. Relocating to Boca Raton in 1983, the firm continued to operate locally until its sale in 2005. John is a U.S. Navy veteran and an engineering graduate of N.Y.U., while Ann was a British citizen, raised in Trinidad and medically trained in London, England.
Fogel Family Foundation Scholarship
Based on Mitch’s personal experience while attending college and graduate school, we understand how difficult it can be for a young person to pursue their college education and life goals with limited resources. And we understand and appreciate how important an education is to one’s success and happiness. Our family believes very strongly that those who can change another person’s life for the better, should. So, to help individuals about to start their college experience, but who do not have all the funds they need to get by while in school, we created the Fogel Family Foundation Scholarship. Our hope is that the FFF Scholarship will make a difference for each deserving student that receives it.

George A. Horton Memorial Scholarship
Founded in memory of George A. Horton, who exemplified the American Dream. George A. Horton was born in Philadelphia to a workingclass family. George moved to South Florida without a college education and little money, but through trade school and hard work, George founded a successful electrical contracting business, Horton Jones Electric. Through Horton Jones Electric, George sponsored youth sports teams and fostered generations of adolescents. He passed on his work ethic and values to his four children and to children in the community. George overcame his obstacles and worked tirelessly to ensure that his children attended college with honors and scholarships. George achieved this dream for them – a dream that can now live on through his scholarship for many more. The scholarship is designed to provide educational grants to students who demonstrate appropriate need and who intend to pursue a degree in a construction-related industry.

Margaux’s Memorial Scholarship
Margaux’s Memorial Scholarship is named for a brilliantly gifted 7th grade student from Omni Middle School, incredibly funny teenager, talented soccer goalie and the most loyal friend you could ever have who tragically lost her young life at age 13 in a horrific car crash on Palmetto Road the evening of Friday, February 23, 1996. Four of Margaux’s friends perished in the crash which also gravely injured others in the two cars involved. From the tragedy came teen safety driving initiatives, car safety engineering advances, changes in law and enforcement, and the Florida Safety Belt law. Margaux was my beloved precious daughter who is missed every single day.

Men Giving Back of South Palm Beach County was conceived in February of 2020 by a small group of motivated men who quickly realized that they possessed a common thread that continues to bind them: A love of their communities, a realization of how fortunate they are to be calling South Palm Beach County their home, and their huge admiration for the many charitable organizations who help those who are struggling. Their plan was simple - recruit like-minded individuals and develop a methodology to raise funds and distribute them to those well deserving causes.
The George Snow Scholarship Fund is fortunate to be a finalist for one of their grants.

Nat and Maria Cole Memorial Scholarship
Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc. was founded by Timolin and Casey Cole, the twin daughters of Nat and Maria Cole, as a means of continuing their parents’ trailblazing legacy by providing music education to children with the greatest need and fewest resources.
Their father, a music legend during a time when being black greatly limited one’s opportunities for success, transcended the barriers of prejudice and opened doors that had never before been open to the black community. Maria Cole, a sought-after vocalist in her own right, sang with such greats as Count Basie and the Duke Ellington Band before marrying Nat.
The vision of Timolin and Casey for Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc. is that their parent’s unforgettable legacy ensures that future generations are given the opportunity to learn and experience the joy of music in their lives. Name Malorie Bliss
