Society founded 25 October 1990 First Open Meeting & First Newsletter – 9 April 1991 First Annual General Meeting – 8 October 1991 First Morning Open Meeting – 28 October 1992 Two Newsletters each month 1992 - 1996 – one issued for the Evening Meeting & an updated one for the Morning Meeting.

Monthly Newsletter – ‘Ireland’s Genealogical Gazette’ (incorporating ‘The Genie Gazette’) 2006 – ongoing

The Society’s Open Meetings 1991-2020 (The normal meetings were suspended in March 2020 due COVID-19) Evening Meetings on 2nd Tuesday

Morning Meetings on 4th Wednesday

• 1991 – A single typewritten two-sided A4 sheet – folded to an A5 pamphlet

• 1992-1996 – A single typewritten two-sided A4 The Society’s Newsletters

sheet – published twice a month – on 2nd Tuesday and 4th Wednesday

• 1996 – ‘The Genie Gazette’ was launched by Jack Sweeney as a ‘social newsletter’ but very quickly replaced the two newsletters above.

• 2006 – ‘Ireland’s Genealogical Gazette’ launched – title suggested by Pádraic Ingoldsby, MGSI. The format was 4 pages – A3 folded in the current newsletter style.

‘The Genie Gazette’ First published in 1996, it was incorporated into ‘Ireland’s Genealogical Gazette’ in January 2006

All copies available online from 1996 to 2005
