Health and safety compliance results
Our compliance team carried out 16 site H&S inspections during the course of August 2021 with an average score of 92.44% which compares well to an average score for July 2021 of 91.45%. There are many examples of good practice being shown on site but there are also opportunities for improvement as summarised below. It is great to see our average score increase and by focusing on areas of weakness listed below we will be able to continue with the positive trend we have set ourselves regarding health and safety performance on site.
Health app
We’re delighted to have launched the ‘My Healthy Advantage’ app which will offer health and wellbeing support for our people and includes a mood tracker, health plans, health check and breathing techniques. Mackenzie Construction employees will also have access to a free 24/7 helpline where they can speak with a qualified counsellor or advisor. It has been installed on all company phones and those without have the option of downloading it onto their personal phones for free. After the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, we hope that our team will find this resource useful as we work harder to ensure our people feel supported, and their health and wellbeing prioritised. Golf days
Gavin Chesney captained a team consisting of some our clients at the Glasgow Warriors Golf Day at The Carrick on Loch Lomond on Wednesday 15th September 2021. Although we did not manage to retain the cup we won in 2019, Gavin and his team managed to “bring the yellow ball home”. We were also in attendance at CECA Scotland’s annual golf day on Thursday 2nd September 2021 at Bruntsfield Links in Edinburgh.
