What Are the Parts of the Oven?

What are the parts of your oven?

If you're having trouble cooking your favorite meals, it may be time to check out the components of your oven. These parts are essential for dependable performance and fast results.

Bake Element

This part is located at the bottom of your oven and provides heat to bake foods evenly and efficiently. It's easy to replace if it becomes worn out or broken. Simply remove the two screws that hold it into place, then disconnect the old element and insert a new one.

Oven Rack

Oven racks are adjustable and help to keep baking trays, pie plates and dutch ovens in the proper position for cooking, roasting or broiling. The lower position is ideal for baking and setting pie crusts, while the highest position is great for browning and crisping.

Conventional Heating

Convection ovens use fans to distribute heat across a wide area, which reduces energy consumption and cooking times. They can also be used to cook multiple trays at once (biscuits, cupcakes and muffins on the top, middle and lower shelves).

Fan Oven Elements

This type of oven uses a fan to distribute heat throughout your oven cavity. It's important to ensure that the fan is working properly, otherwise your food will not be cooked evenly.

Oven Base Elements

An oven base element is a circular part that fits to the bottom of your oven. It helps to evenly distribute heat, but it does not distribute as much air as a fan oven element.
