For me buzzing down the road in the coupe, windows down, engine humming along, there is nothing too much more fun than that.

I get in the discussions and hear “ I don’t want to get in an accident” or “the weather isn't right for me to drive right now”, or “I don’t want to put a bunch of miles on my car or truck in case I want to sell it”.

AM General and Jeep Partner to Develop New Light Tactical Concept Vehicle AM General manufacturer of light tactical vehicles, has partnered with Jeep and introduced a new light tactical concept vehicle at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). The Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck (XMT) by AM General is the first phase of a collaboration that reunites two companies whose histories trace back to World War II. In creating the Jeep Gladiator XMT, AM General leveraged the Gladiator's capabilities and customized the truck to meet global customers' needs for a light-weight military truck.

"We are extremely excited to partner with FCA and introduce the Jeep Gladiator Extreme Military-Grade Truck at AUSA," said AM General President and CEO, Andy Hove. "This new venture gives us an opportunity to showcase our expertise in light tactical vehicles and help FCA maximize the Gladiator's global reach and potentially enter new military markets."

The Jeep Gladiator XMT has been upfitted by AM General with both custom-built and commercially available military-grade parts to create an even more rugged truck that can traverse the toughest of terrains in adverse conditions and is ready to meet varied military customer requirements.

As with the Humvee, AM General can also convert the Gladiator XMT into mission-specific and purposeful light-weight tactical trucks based on customer requirements.

Pending feedback and interest in the military marketplace, production could begin in the second half of 2020. In addition to the gas model, Gladiator XMT would be offered to military customers as a diesel version.

Beautiful Vehicles Help Send Summer Off in Style The annual IDIDIT Car Show & Open House welcomed 367 registered participants for a day of fun in the sun.

With bright sunlight glinting off deeply waxed finishes and families enjoying beautiful vehicles and a trip down memory lane, the 2019 IDIDIT Car Show & Open House lived up to its sterling reputation as Michigan’s premier end-of-summer celebration of the hot-rodding lifestyle.

The event welcomed 367 registered vehicles—and dozens more that didn’t register—to IDIDIT’s Tecumseh headquarters for a day of classic car appreciation that included facility tours, vendor displays, food trucks and a live DJ. Celebrity guests, a charity raffle and, of course, plenty of awards made the 28th edition of the event one to remember.

“We want to thank everyone who joined us for the 2019 IDIDIT Car Show & Open House,” said Trever Cornwell of IDIDIT. “From the weather, to the atmosphere, to the amazing cars and trucks, this annual party is a perfect example of why we all love this industry.”

Last year was the first time the car show was open to all makes, models and years, including the classics of yesterday and today. New this year was an appearance by TV celebrity Brother JD from Wrench Wars, who was on hand to present the inaugural Best Garage Build trophy to an exceptional 1950 Ford Coupe owned by Jim Brewer of Pinckney, Michigan
