... at the heart of an environmental sanctuary The ACAYU ECO RESORT nestles unobtrusively within the Pipa Ecological Sanctuary. The sanctuary, a large part of which is protected under the safeguard of UNESCO’s World Heritage Biodiver sity Programme, provides its visitors with landscapes of remarkable natural beauty. Here you can find the “Coastal Atlantic Forest”, home to an abundance of many different and exotic species of birds, as well as the playful Sagui monkeys. In the warm waters of the coastal ocean is the natural theatre and playground of the dolphins. Teams of biologists and volunteers come together here every six months to study and observe the spectacular coming ashore of the Atlantic turtles, the hatching of their eggs and consequent return to the water accompanied by their young.
O ACAYU ECO RESORT está inserido no Santuário Ecológico de Pipa cuja Floresta Atlântica integra a Reserva da Biosfera na UNESCO. O Santuário proporciona cenários de invulgar beleza aos seus visitantes. Grande parte da orla de Pipa e Tibau do sul é área de Protecção Ambiental, preservando a Mata Atlântica onde se podem observar diversas espécies de pássaros e os alegres saguis, e onde o mar de águas quentes constitui o habitat natural de golfinhos. Equipas de biólogos e voluntários acompanham e estudam durante seis meses por ano a desova e nascimento das tartarugas marinhas.
