Chocolate Bar Package Redesign
For this project we were challenged with redesigning an existing brand’s chocolate bar packaging. I chose to redesign Ghirardelli’s Raspberry Dark Chocolate Bar. I went out and researched how the bars looked on the shelves. Seeing that many brands had busy packaging I landed on creating a simplistic design that would draw your eyes away from the business of the other chocolate bars on the shelves.
Earth Dad Brand Identity
For this project we were instructed to create branded advertisements and merchandise for a band and an upcoming event of theirs. I chose the band Earth Dad and their live concert at Union Pool that took place on September 16. The band Earth Dad is a group of friends making music together. I wanted the designs to be focused around friendship and the community that their band creates, so I had the idea to have little friendship monsters that are shown throughout the designs. I also designed an app for people to find a bestie for their concert. At the show you and your bestie could purchase friendship bracelets and take pictures in a photo booth and receive branded photo strips.
Presentation Graphics
For this project, we made a plan to expand the Valley Metro routes to allow people to have access to more stops throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Gilbert. Along with this, I rebranded Valley Metro to be more attractive to users. I compiled all of these elements into a presentation to get the public on board with the expansion project and created a landing page where they could sign up to show their support.
Creative Typography
For this project, we were challenged with coming up with original typography that was unique to the company and advertisement. I ended up choosing a play on words of “Flowers Say it Better” because the design is spelled out in flowers and people use flowers to express their feelings to others.
Social Media Advertisements
In January and February of 2022 I did freelance work under That Pam Chick Inc. to create branded social media advertisements for Thomas Lee Sheets. These advertisements focused on the quality and comfort of their product.
Perfectly Pickled
This project took place over an entire semester. I was assigned a company and got to design their brand along with social media posts, a website, a web banner advertisement, email blasts, a newsletter, and blogs. This project allowed me to design according to brand guidelines and create consistent and cohesive designs and advertisements that were true to the brand.
Book Cover Design
For this project I was given a sketch from the author of what he envisioned the cover to look like. From that sketch I came up with typographic, illustrative, and photographic based covers that gave a glimpse into what the book is about. I ended up choosing the typographic book cover that has the main character hitchhiking and smoking which were major themes within the book.
Logo Design
GCU Skate Club came to me looking for a logo they could use on social media and posters to attract people to their new club. After exploring several different concepts, we landed on the skeleton hand holding the skateboard. It allowed for the logo to feel edgy while still being friendly to be added to advertisements that were displayed around campus.
Rumble Campaign
For this assignment, I chose to design for Rumble Root Beer. I went out to grocery stores near me and examined their selection of root beer and took note of what stood out to me. I wanted to create packaging that would stand out against the competition’s busy, almost overwhelming, packaging. So, I went with a more simple design that would draw the viewer’s eyes away from the chaos and draw them in with colors and illustrations. To promote the product I created print advertisements and merchandise that would interest the targeted audience.
