After transitioning from his military career, founder Robert Kilsby, set to find himself a hobby which quickly became much more than that. Restoring a classic Alfa Romeo coupe, Robert found the Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club which led him towards the world of competitive motorsport.

From here, Robert competed in over 15 ‘major’ national Targa and Tarmac Rally event. In the 2005 Targa Tasmania he was inspired by a 2 Commando Regiment soldier and his mates, both of whom had been WIA in Afghanistan, and were competing alongside him in their Datsun 240Z, and in particular were supporting Legacy. This then became the drive behind the launch of Mountain Road Racing and its cause to assist Veterans in Motorsport.
