The aim of the survey is to help develop and improve initiatives across all Taaleem schools.

Parents will be able to complete the survey in Arabic or English and will be asked to submit one survey per family per child. Thank you for your support.

KIDS On

Mix and Match Day—on Sunday 5 February the PYP students will have a mix and match dress day. All students who participate will be required to pay 3.00 AED for the privilege. This money will go to charity.

From the Head of Primary …...

Welcome to

the start of a new term and a New Year to our new and returning students and parents of the GCS school family. This term has started with many exciting events.

Last term we made contact with Coral Cove Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with whom we committed to developing a reading and writing culture, through a Penpal programme. We were all very excited when the first batch of let-

ters arrived and distributed to the students. Several children

This week it was a delight to see the enthusiasm and

thought that went into the development of businesses set up by the Young Entrepreneurs of Grade 5.

Thank you to the children, their teachers and parents who supported them as they worked on this project which provided a real insight into what will be needed for their exhibition.

Our school uniform is a reflection of who we are at GCS and we should all wear it proudly and in its entirety at all times.

Parent Information Evening ... Inquiry in Action Our Parent Information Session on ‘Inquiry in the Classroom’, allowed parents to enter the classroom and take on the role of student. Through practical, hands-on learning opportunities parents were engaged in the inquiry process therefore developing curiosity, questioning skills and problem-solving while integrating the core skills of Language, Mathematics, the Arts and Social Studies or Science.
