BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: STUDENT VISITS TO RDCES PER COLLEGE AND PURPOSE

At the Office of RDCES, the interaction between students and the services offered is as diverse as it is impactful. Based on the data from January 1 to June 28, 2024, the office has recorded 1,056 student visits from different colleges and purposes. A recent analysis reveals a fascinating insight into the distribution of student visits across colleges and purposes, showcasing both the utilization and importance of RDCES services.

Among the colleges, the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) and the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) are the most frequent visitors, each accounting for 29% and 25% of visits respectively. Close behind, the College of Allied Health Studies (CAHS) follows with 23%, while the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences (CEAS) and the College of Computer Studies (CCS) account for 15% and 8% of visits respectively.

Purpose of Visit

When it comes to the reasons behind these visits, a clear majority 70% of students seek research and statistical consultation, highlighting the office's pivotal role in academic support. Checking of research papers and instrument validation also play significant roles, representing 12% and 9% of visits respectively. Meanwhile, tasks such as submission of hardbound theses (4%) and signing of forms (5%) round out the diverse purposes for which students utilize in Office of the RDCES.

This breakdown underscores the essential role of RDCES in supporting students across various academic disciplines, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their educational pursuits. GORDON COLLEGE JOB FAIR 2024 CELEBRATES SUCCESS AND COLLABORATION

A significant milestone for Gordon College as it hosted the Job Fair 2024 in celebration of its 25th Founding Anniversary. The event, organized in collaboration with the College of Business and Accountancy's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Human Resource Management, saw an impressive turnout and fruitful partnerships that underscored its commitment to nurturing career opportunities for its students and alumni.

The joint effort by the Gordon College Community Extension Services Unit and Publication Unit, along with the support of PESO and DOLE of Olongapo City, showcased a vibrant synergy between academia and industry. Alumni and various corporate entities, including prominent names like Ayala Mall Harbor Point —Subic and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, participated actively, offering diverse employment prospects and networking opportunities.

COLLEGE OF ALLIED HEALTH STUDIES EMPOWERS COMMUNITY WITH MOTHER CLASS AND MEDICAL MISSION IN OLD CABALAN, OLONGAPO CITY

Gordon College's College of Allied Health Studies, in collaboration with the Gordon College Community Extension Services, has launched a transformative initiative with a Mother Class and Medical Mission in Baranggay Old Cabalan, Olongapo City. This community-focused event aims to provide vital healthcare education and services to residents, empowering them with knowledge and access to medical care. The Mother Class component of the initiative focuses on maternal health education, equipping expectant mothers with essential

information on prenatal care, nutrition, and childbirth preparation. Concurrently, the Medical Mission offers free consultations, medical check-ups, and basic treatments, addressing immediate healthcare needs within the community.

GORDON COLLEGE'S COLLEGE OF ALLIED HEALTH STUDIES LAUNCHES COMMUNITY WELLNESS CLINIC

Gordon College's College of Allied Health Studies has introduced a transformative initiative through its Community Extension Program, reaffirming its commitment to community health and well-being.

As part of its sustainable and regular Extension Program, the clinic offers one-on-one counseling on Family Planning (FP), as well as the dispensing of various FP methods and PSI insertion and removal services. These crucial services are designed to empower individuals with access to reproductive health education

and services, enhancing overall community health.

Through collaborative efforts and with the support of faculty members and dedicated volunteers, Gordon College continues to play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare accessibility and education. The launch of the GC Wellness Clinic exemplifies the college's commitment to serving the broader community and making a positive impact on the lives of its residents.

COASTAL CLEANUP UNITES COMMUNITY IN ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

On June 28, 2024, Gordon College's Community Extension Services Unit and the Office of Student Welfare and Services joined forces to organize a highly successful coastal cleanup initiative. The event, which drew participation from 268 volunteers including student organizations, students, faculty members, and administrative staff, exemplified a collective commitment to environmental preservation and community unity. The coastal cleanup initiative not only aimed to beautify and protect our coastal environment but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility among participants. Through initiatives like the coastal cleanup, Gordon College continues to inspire positive change and promote environmental awareness within its community. As we celebrate the success of this event, we reaffirm our commitment to preserving our natural resources and building a more sustainable future for generations to come.

GORDON COLLEGE LAUNCHES MAYOR'S READING PROGRAM WITH SUCCESSFUL STUDENT-TEACHER LITERACY TRAINING

Gordon College, in collaboration with the GC Community Extension Services, the College of Education, Arts, and Sciences, the GC Library, DepEd, and the Mayor's Office, has launched the inaugural session of the Reading Literacy Training for student-teachers. This initiative is a pivotal component of the Mayor's Reading Program, aimed at enhancing literacy skills among youth across various barangays of Olongapo City. The successful training session, held recently, brought together a diverse group of participants and supporters dedicated to advancing educational opportunities in the community.

Key figures including Dr. Eleonor Cayabyab and Dr. Darwin Paguio graced the event, underscoring its significance in promoting literacy and fostering a love for reading among young learners. The Gordon College academic community recently experienced two enlightening seminars aimed at enhancing research skills and fostering a culture of academic excellence. Hosted under the compelling theme "Enhancing the Culture of Research Towards Greater Research Productivity," these events brought together students and faculty members in dynamic learning environments.

The first seminar, held on February 2, 2024, at the Gordon College Function Hall, focused on research methodologies. Attended primarily by 3rd-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students, the session featured Dr. John Mark Asio, Research Director of Gordon College - Research Development and Community Extension Services (Gordon College-RDCES), as the distinguished guest speaker. Dr. Asio's expertise enriched discussions on research practices, inspiring participants to delve deeper into research methodologies crucial for academic growth.

Continuing the momentum, the second seminar, titled "Enhancing the Culture of Research Towards Greater Productivity Part 2," took place on May 10, 2024. Led by Dr. Ediric Gadia, an esteemed expert in statistical data analysis, this session delved into advanced statistical techniques and their application in research contexts. Held at the 3rd Floor Function Hall, the seminar provided practical insights and hands-on activities, preparing students to effectively analyze and interpret data for informed decision-making.

TRIBO NG MATH HOSTS SEMINAR ON SUCCESSFUL SCHOLARLY PUBLICATIONS

The Gordon College Tribo ng Math conducted a transformative Research Seminar themed "Introducing Impact: The Gateway to Successful Scholarly Publications." Held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Room 414, the seminar aimed to equip participants with essential skills for refining their thesis papers into publishable articles.

The event featured Dr. Ediric Gadia as the resource speaker, whose expertise in scholarly publications provided invaluable insights and guided discussions. Dr. Gadia's presentation focused on the critical aspects of academic writing, offering practical

advice on how to enhance the quality and impact of research papers. The seminar saw active participation from faculty members and students, who engaged enthusiastically in the discussions and activities.

CHTM'S 5TH ANNUAL RESEARCH FORUM: ENHANCING TOURISM

AND HOSPITALITY RESEARCH FOR A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY

The 5th Annual Research Forum 2024, hosted by the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), was held at the Gordon College function hall under the theme "From Schools to Community: Upskilling the Tourism and Hospitality Stakeholders' Research Culture in Response to a Sustainable Community." This significant event took place with great enthusiasm and participation from various educational institutions on March 10, 2024.

Participating schools, such as St. Beniled Global Competence, Subic Bay College Incorporated, Lyceum Subic Bay, CelTech College, President Ramon Magsaysay State University, and Gordon College, showcased their research efforts, contributing to a rich exchange of ideas and innovations in tourism and hospitality.

A highlight of the event was the insightful keynote address delivered by Prof. Jojo Villamin, whose expertise provided attendees with valuable learnings and perspectives on the forum's theme. The active engagement of panelists and participants further enriched the discussions, fostering a collaborative environment for academic and professional growth.
