BHANU SHARMA Hey everyone, I know this school year has been a bumpy ride but we are almost through it! I just want to take a moment to thank all members for adapting to the new volunteering situation by actively participating in events such as the toiletry drive and thanksgiving card donations.

It’s been difficult to get hours and effectively serve the community this year, but you guys have done an amazing job and I thank you all for your determination and selflessness!

LAYNA GRACE BURLIN I joined Key Club for service hour opportunities. A lot of people said that I would make friends in this club and honestly at first I didn’t completely believe it because at times I can be very to myself. But every single member from Key Club made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I’ve met tons of amazing people this school year through Key Club and I enjoy being in it so much! I do recommend joining to any student interested in making friends and/or looking for service hour opportunities. Key Club does multiple different events to volunteer at throughout the school year that help members socialize and become closer. I will definitely continue to be in Key Club until I graduate!

The Thirst Project is a non-profit organization to bring safe drinking water to people worldwide where it isn't readily available. The organization collects money, spreads awareness regarding the issue, and provides bio-sand water filters, wells, as well as emergency and disaster relief.

663 million people on our planet do not have access to safe, clean drinking water.

Every 21 seconds a child dies of water-related disease.

When you fill a 5-gallon jerrycan with water, it weighs 44 pounds.

The task of collecting water tends to fall on women and children between the ages of eight and 13.

As a result, women are often unable to get jobs or contribute financially to their households.

Children are often unable to go to school or get an education due to the thousands of hours they have to spend annually just hauling water.

The average distance that someone in a developing community walks to fetch water is 3.75 miles.
