Combo of Low Impact High-Intensity Interval Training and Core and Stretch: Limber up, get your heart- pumping, test your balance, and enjoy connecting with friends. Instructor: Denise Mornini.

Chair Yoga: Learn Yoga poses that help to increase mobility and strength, stretch the body, reduce stress and pain, and clear the mind with a support of a chair. Instructor: Archana Gupta.

Spirit Fitness: learn to focus on building functional skills aimed to improve your capabilities throughout your day-to-day life. Instructor: Jared Ciner.

Maryland Senior Olympics: Join us for a demonstration of the very popular game of cornhole. Come play, meet some of the athletes, learn about the Maryland Senior Olympics, and why our motto is "To Participate is to Win!"

Combo of Broadway Beats and Ballet for Fitness:

This demo combines to give warm up exercises for the whole body, teaches from many genres of dance to include modern, jazz, tap and lyrical. Finally, learn to follow choreography which can be turned into full dances. Instructor: Becci Kim.

Better Balance: Participants will learn and improve techniques that empower them to maintain control over their balance, whether they're stationary or in motion. Instructors: Mary Sandoval & James Warner.

Drum For Fitness: Participants will experience the joy of drumbeats & good music for a full body workout. Instructors: Moufti Lawani.

Hula Dance: In this brief introduction to hula dance, students will be familiarized with the mechanics of basic hula dance steps and hand movements as well as some vocabulary and history of hula.

Walk In History at Bohrer Park!

Step back in time on an informative 40-minute walk along the paved paths of beautiful Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. Visit Gaithersburg’s oldest structure, learn about the property during the Civil War, see remnants of its life as a commercial turf farm, and discover a hidden cemetery.

Walks starts promptly at: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM at the Mayor Ed Bohrer Statue at the entrance of the Activity Center. Sponsored by BGC Nature Club.

"It's About Time! “Fire Safety for You in Your Home”

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) has seen a scary and disturbing trend when it comes to residential fires in the County. Older Adults are dying at an increasing rate due to their failure to exit the building when it’s on fire. Many factors are associated with this, but the constants seem to be (1) a lack of working smoke alarms, and (2) some residents seem to be trying to engage with the fire.
