A warm welcome to the Gonzalez Byass UK Portfolio Tasting 2025! This year marks a very special milestone as we celebrate 21 years since the opening of our UK office. Over the past two decades, we have grown and evolved, building meaningful relationships with our customers and producers while championing exceptional wines and spirits.

Today’s tasting is a reflection of that journey, showcasing the breadth of our own production from the Gonzalez Byass family of wineries across Spain and Chile, complemented by a growing portfolio of agency brands. This year, we are delighted to introduce two exciting new partners, Famiglia Castellani from Tuscany and Burgundy house, Jean Bouchard.

Alongside these fresh additions, we are proud to present beloved favourites, special releases, and, in celebration of our 21st anniversary, some truly exceptional vintages hand-selected from the cellars of our wineries. Famiglia Castellani, based near Pisa, has been producing wine for over 120 years. Founded in 1903, the family’s winemaking history dates back to the late 1800s. Domaine Zind- Humbrecht’s winemaking roots stretch back over 10 generations, but the modern story began in 1959 when the Zind and Humbrecht family vineyards merged. Under the leadership of Léonard Humbrecht, and later his son Olivier, the estate has expanded to 42 hectares, spread across a diverse array of terroirs in the Alsace region. These vineyards include some of the finest parcels in the region, with a focus on top Grand Cru and single-vineyard sites. Under the stewardship of Olivier Humbrecht MW, the estate produces biodynamic, terroirdriven wines with a non-interventionist approach in the cellar, leading the field in Alsace winemaking.

The Neyen vineyard is a remarkable site where the Andes Mountains and the Coastal Range meet. The region is imbued with a unique energy, known locally as “Neyen, the spirit of Apalta”. Neyen de Apalta is an organic and biodynamic regenerative vineyard that has spent over a decade cultivating living soils. Wines are produced from old-vine, ungrafted Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec planted in 1890, with Carménère added in 1936. Finca Constancia represents the evolution of Spanish winemaking, born from a vision to create modern, fruit-driven wines of exceptional quality. In 2001, the company began planting on a 220-hectare property in Otero, near Toledo, carefully selecting 79 separate parcels, or ‘parcelas’, based on their unique soil types and microclimates. Getaria T xakolina, a northern Spanish DO, is home to wines and grape varieties like no other. Most Txakoli stays local, celebrated for its fresh, zippy acidity and lower alcohol, perfectly pairing with Basque seafood. The TuekaEtxaniz family has been making wine here since 1649, and today Ondarrabi Zuri and Ondarrabi Beltza vines are trained high on trellises to improve airflow in the cool, damp climate, shaped by high rainfall and sea mists. The wines are kept on lees until bottling, retaining a slight spritz, and traditionally served from a height using an escanciador.

Inspired by the blue haze once created in London-style gin distillation, they crafted a distinctive gin with a blend of 12 botanicals. In 2010, the brand was acquired by Gonzalez Byass, but it continues to be distilled under Charles Maxwell’s supervision at Thames Distillers. London No. 1 Sherry Cask is infused for three months in American oak casks that previously held Tio Pepe Fino, with an ideal 43% alcohol content to perfectly balance the aromatic characteristics of both the gin and the wood.
