TITLE : PARASITUATION [CALCUTTA/KOLKATA]
In reading a city like Calcutta, one can get lost in the multi-layered frenzy of its ecology. It is key to note that the way the city operates can be read through the study of concentrated clusters.
Such an example can be found in the meatpacking hall of the S.S Hogg New market: where animals, children, butchers, motorcycles and other amenities co-exist within close proximity. The hall is an “ark”, sitting within a landscape of the market, where various vessels interact with one another daily. The ark in this project is paramount in reading the architecture of the city, where each building/individual is a vessel, sifting through the landscape of Calcutta.
Judging the effectiveness of each vessel is hinged on hybridity, and its accommodation of elements within its ecology. In trying to create a new architecture (ark), it is important to consider Calcutta as not the dehydrated flat table that it is, but as a layered ocean that must be assailed through programmatic and tectonic considerations. The building/Ark created in this project serves as a point of analysis in which to investigate tectonic, political and ecological relationships.
The methodology of this research started with an investigation into the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and his correspondence with Patrick Geddes. This close, interpersonal examination allowed for research not only into Calcutta as a physical space, but a mental one, grappling with its colonial past and bureaucratic present, in the hopes for a more democratic future within those cracks.
This building houses a florist, a library, a coffee house and artist studios. The synthesis of these different functions is as a result of my research investigations into Calcutta, namely the way in which space is used, overlapping and mixing with one another. The building itself is an ark, a vessel within a landscape that acts both as a bridge between spaces but also an isolated “floating” entity unto itself.

Our scheme seeks to minimise the time of construction which drives our use of containers. The scheme is made up of an arrangement or 8 40ft containers and 8 20ft containers. The rest of the space is used for a cafe area, whilst the transitional and open space provide an opportunity for relaxed open-air networking. The schemes modular makeup also allows for great adaptability to changes.
CONSOLE DESIGN
Work at STRATA DB involved several projects, Including overseeing a team of younger architects. It involved working on smaller scale projects such as furniture design to master-planning bigger projects like the Edo College of Agriculture and its individual college buildings. Work also included projects such as Co-working spaces and gantry projects in different regions of Nigeria.

At MYAA, work involved huge team collaborations on competitions and existing projects based in the Middle East. The work shown on this page is of work done for a development competition in Al Ula. Personal work involved 3D modelling as well as work on the sections in collaboration with visualizers and other architects.

This project, in collaboration with other students was based upon the idea of exploration and speculation. Using an architectural canon of references, we devised a scheme for a floating city, in which each of us designed specific infrastructural elements that made it work. My scheme served as a transport system that hovered across the city, with pods that dropped off passengers at each level. Although what we designed was speculative, the challenge of drawing and modelling such complex geometries, as well as “photoshopping” imagined landscapes, allowed for my skills as an architect to relax and stretch in ways I had not thought I would be able to achieve.

of Scotland’s central belt provide the location for Lady Victoria Colliery: this is our site of exploration. Our body of work is the body of Newtongrange. Body scales are recorded through various media, conditions and juxtaposing conventions allowing the landscape to be read as both tectonic and stereotomic. The process of making has defined areas of deviation within our corpus, spaces of revitalization revealed, open to an inauguration of specific architectural language embodied

[LAGOS]
Alongside my academic research, I have immersed myself into the world of digital and physical sculpture, working with varying materials and techniques in order to uncover different architectural and theatrical scenarios for investigation. The work has included experimentation with expanding foam, wax, and glass. Designs have also included work on domestic objects such as room dividers and masks, as ways to investigate the theatricality of life through the objects it orientates itself around. Physical works have been handled by collaborator and friend Hugo Harriss
