The GBCVB advances the reputation of the Greater Birmingham Region as a premier destination through a robust paid, owned and earned media program.
OWNED MEDIA
The GBCVB’s owned media platforms are utilized to promote the Greater Birmingham Region. Through strategic content planning and development, the GBCVB’s channels (@inbirmingham) and website (inbirmingham.com) provide ongoing news, updates and resources for all audiences. A marketing editorial calendar is developed annually, supplemented by a monthly social media content calendar.
EARNED MEDIA
The GBCVB generates positive media coverage for the Greater Birmingham Region in the local, regional, national and trade markets through hosting travel writers and ongoing story pitching and outreach. Earned media is generated throughout the year, with media relations strategy determined annually and as media opportunities arise.
PAID MEDIA
The GBCVB utilizes a strategic paid advertising media mix, targeting key demographics across the organization’s business verticals. Digital advertising tactics include paid search, paid social, digital display and online video; traditional/print media is heavily focused on industry trade publications. Paid media runs throughout the year, with placement strategy determined quarterly.
