GBHS CTE Students Build Business Chalets for City of Grand Blanc
A Letter from the Superintendent:
Wow! What a school year this has been for our students, staff, and the community! I continue to be amazed at the drive and inspiration our students and staff demonstrate each day to make a difference for themselves and others in our community. Whether it is our Positivity Project (P2) movement, work with the United Way, High School LEAD class, Geometry in Construction, Fine Arts (World Champion Drumline), AP Research, Early College, etc... you name it, students and staff in Grand Blanc continue to push boundaries and challenge our way of thinking about teaching and learning. Education has long been said to be a place to obtain knowledge and experience. It is also a place to question and explore various (Continued on Page 5)
Students from Geometry in Construction, a Career & Technology Education (CTE) class at GBHS, will get to see their work from this school year live on for years to come. Business chalets were constructed over the 201819 school year in the class, and have been transported to their new destination downtown next to Grand Blanc City Hall. The students worked on the floors last fall before the snowfall, built walls indoors in the (Continued on Page 13)
On Thursday, May 23, 2019 specialized hauling equipment moved the tiny businesses built by GBHS students to their permanent home in downtown Grand Blanc. Students watched with Mr. Youngs and Mr. Wiltse as the buildings were loaded and carried away.
