The April Fool’s Joke An April Fool’s joke in the newspaper Rjukan Dagblad in 1939 would become a reality some years later, to the great surprise of both the newspaper and, not least, the general public. The April Fool’s joke concerned a lift that was to be built to Gaustatoppen. Reference was made to a Professor A.W. Brøgger who had undertaken a number of surveys in and around Gaustatoppen.
