Future of Artificial intelligence
We are moving towards a revolution or disaster where AI will be replacing humans in jobs. Some experts even claim that AI will automate all jobs and should we allow AI to flood the internet with propaganda and fake news without any accountability. Why should we develop nonhuman minds that can outsmart us? Do we risk control, or are these just baseless worries, and the machine can’t replace us at all? Let's discuss this and what measures government must take
We need to have an international organization that can formulate a proper policy framework as at the national level, governments don’t have expertise in AI .To develop tools for fighting cyber warfares and spam , we need to have international institution as we have IAEA for atomic energy. We need to have public conversations about how this AI will have implications that are going to come anyway on our political and social system. We have these five years where we can move in a more hopeful and optimistic way by changing our market and social policy.
Artificial intelligence is known for integrating automation into optimized solutions. Quantum computing can provide better solutions for sequential problems than AI, such as financial problems. So scientists are developing quantum computing algorithms into AI techniques to accelerate machine learning. Quantum computing is going to give AI human-like emotions. We need to have an institution to regulate these technologies also.
It must be used as a tool not as a replacement for humans in any organization. For example, I recently saw news where a news anchor named Sana was inducted by India today group as a reader. She can’t conduct debates and talk to other people but can read the news better than a human anchor.
In India, we need to look at where we can allow this technology to replace humans and where we don’t want it. For example, we have so many drivers' jobs, and we can’t afford to have so many drivers getting jobless. I have seen experts who speak in favor of this argue that new jobs will get created as with the advancement of this technology. But we don’t have as many organized sector jobs as it is there in western countries. Nearly 93 percent of the workers are from unorganized sector, and this will have a major impact on unorganized sector jobs, and most of these jobs are not so skillful. So you cant push such a large chunk of the workforce into some skillful expertise line of work. Because for those you need to have strong education background and we don’t have education system that is increasing this capacity with the pace that we need.
